Note: that's 100% of precincts, NOT 100% of votes. Absentee ballots that arrived by mail today and absentee and provisional ballots turned in at polling places today are not yet counted. But there won't be enough to change the result (especially since PK dominated among the absentees).

Too bad, LA Times!

MH - Good to see you tonight. This is one for record books - focused community activism defeats slimy big bucks politics.

Normally, I would call this a landslide. But considering all the money poured in by IBEW and the other puppet masters in LA for Essel, the term "landslide" just isn't a correct term to describe how huge of a win this is for Krekorian.

Congratulations to Councilmember-Elect Krekorian and his campaign staff. This is without a doubt an election that sends a message to everybody in Los Angeles that at the end of the day, if the community whose voice needs to really matter comes together, no special interest can stand in its way.

CONGRATS!

Let the fun begin in Glendale! How many of the Council will run for the Assembly? And how about the Clerk? This could be interesting . . .

(And how happy is PK that he doesn't have to vote on the budget in Sacto?)

Now Carol Schatz get get on her f***in broomstick and fly up Antonio's ass. The downtown status quo good ole boys club is under attack. First, the demise of Jack Weiss, then the voters chop off Antonio's balls on Measure B, and now the employee unions in the form of Brian D'Arcy make a new enemy on City Council.

When do the indictments and recall petitions of the mayor start? This is WORSE than the Shaw administration of 1938.

It looks like the mafia won over the DWP thugs, who really won? Another failed Sacto politian looking for a pay raise like Mr. Potato Head from CD5. Guess the council scheduled the pay vote for DWP so that Paul could not vote against it. While there are some comments here that make noise against the DWP pay issue if there was as much said about the control they have on the council maybe we could show the council for what they are. The mayor and at least 14 others are DWP's poodles. Let's see the police give up pay raises for 2 years, city staff is furloughed, others get pay cuts well excluding the council and DWP is "saving" us money by only getting bonuses vs a pay raise which will save us all when pension time comes along. Heal council heal.

Let's see if he can start the ball rolling to rid the city of the corrupt administration.
Will this be a new beginning... or did the people get hoodwinked again?

I don't know why everyone keeps lumping the mayor into this race and/or debate.

He didn't endorse. He wouldn't go against his party. He isn't running for anything. Why don't you just discuss races, real facts and issues? Wendy is the the bigger bad guy here.

Oh stop it. The Mayor all-but-endorsed but he's not a complete idiot he knew a formal endorsement would guarantee Essel's defeat.
