Villaraigosa Now Plans To Run Entire Nation's Schools

Villaraigosa, having successfully boosted grades, SAT scores and graduation rates at LAUSD schools, has unveiled a national education plan, so that the rest of the country can benefit from his expertise and experience.

Okay, I made up the first part, but the second part is true. Can you believe this? Is the nation -- and the national press -- going to be stupid enough to take his "proposal" seriously? Do you think anyone will bother to report that this nutty wannabe professor has had zero experience running schools? Or that during the time he's been in California and L.A., the schools have become abysmal?

Anyway, the plan would supposedly cost $104 billion -- just 10 times the price of remodelling the airport, or building a stretch of subway. The name of the plan is the "'Hillary! Over here! Hillary! Pick me to be your V-P!' Educational Plan"

My advice to you: start applying for that passport, pick out an alternative country, and, if necessary, start learning the language they speak there. The Beverly Hills Lingual Institute has terrific teachers, and they're all native speakers.

Here's the Daily News article.

Putting the horse back in front of the cart regarding the mayor and his LAUSD takeover:

All I know is regarding these school board elections: It's about to get reeeeeeeal interesting. ZD is shocked to think what is in store. Jon Lauretzen and Margurite Lamonte are about to become very famous. I can't wait for the "This Is Your Life" tribute. Should be very imformative. It'll probably be enough to make you wish you weren't an incumbent. Maybe the only smart incumbents were Tokofsy and Lansing for seeing what's ahead and bowing out. YIKES! Should make for some interesing threads, very soon....Ya feel me, dough...on the realest. Big ZD from the 213.

He made this speech at the National Press Club (not sure if this was before or after his siesta at the State of the Union) and I'm wondering if ANYONE from the MSM questioned him or his miserable credentials on this? This guy has 0 credibility with educational issues. I mean with his 1.4 GPA, muddying the waters with lawsuits at LAUSD in a lame unconstitutional but expensive attempt to take over the schools, using schoolkids as pawns to further his crass political ambitions. Blatantly ignoring the fact that illegal immigration has destroyed many schools in "his" city and race riots between blacks and latinos. As McIntyre said this morning, this is a joke.

Wait, I thought Villaraigosa was going to end poverty with $44 billion. At least that's something else he said while in Washington. He needs to get his little butt back to LA and take care of our problems first. Of course after taking his ADD medication.

I don't begrudge the mayor for spending time in Washington. L.A.'s problems are the nation's problems and we need Federal help in the situation.

Zuma the midget mayor always goes to Washington and comes back empty handed. Don't stick up for him not doing his job here in LA. I would agree with you however, he hasn't done shit in the city and look at all the problems going on. Villaraigosa instead of being a mayor of the nations 2nd largest city, he could care less and just wants to campaign again and be in the spot light.

No Zuma, you're wrong and your naivety is showing. We need the gangbang-coddling mayor to spend his time in LA solving the MASSIVE problems here rather than jetting to DC (on our dime) in search of more headlines. The only thing he should be doing in DC is demanding that ICE enforce immigration laws (which he'll never do).

I haven't read one word about any money Villaraigosa has asked for LA. Why should he care about LA when he thinks he'll be out of here soon on to greener pastures? He's a shameful excuse of a man. Talk about mother issues somewhere in his childhood mommy didn't give him enough love and attention and that's why he's so off base seeking approval at every turn and so insecure. If only he would concentrate on ONE issue and fix it.
