A CD-1 Election Pause (?) Update for Monday 3-14-17
With a thousand ballots left to be counted, Incumbent CD-1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo is in SERIOUS danger of facing challenger Joe-Bray-Ali in a May Runoff as the current vote count drops the current Officeholder under the 50%, plus one threshold (49.51%).
CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo.
** Blogger's Notes: A bloggin, political cliche ..........., EVERY VOTE COUNTS!! With supposedly a thousand ballots left to be counted, CD-1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo and second place Challenger Joe Bray-Ali surely know as of today, that the difference between Outright Victory and a May Runoff will be decided by a SMALL margin, the current tally below.
Gil Cedillo 9,459 Votes, 49.51%.
Joe Bray-Ali 7,288 Votes, 38.14%.
Giovanni Hernandez 1,572 Votes, 8.23%
Jesse Rosas 788 Votes, 4.12%.
With the count of the remaining votes, the Incumbent must overcome an 189 votes margin (plus one) to win re-election outright ..........,PLUS, offset whatever the WRITE-IN Vote total is for Luca Barton.
To be continued on Friday----Scott Johnson.
