Can we talk about how Phil Jennerjahn is a racist, homophobic, freedom hating, piece of smelly toe jam?
Speaking of Phil and things that stink, his "hero" Carmen the Clown Trutanich was mentioned no less than 11 times in LA Weekly's article on the remarkable successes of LA City Lobbyist John Ek.
Ek is a "close friend" of Trutanich, the fellow San Pedro socialites having become closer after Ek hired Trutanich to represent him when Ek was forced to testify as a witness in a grand jury hearing regarding pay-to-play allegations during the Mayor Jim Hahan era. Ek was not charged.
Ek was a big player in Trutanich's bid to become City Attorney, and the friendship has maintained with Ek recently attending one of Trutanich's Friday fish luncheons in San Pedro where Ek was greeted with one of Trutanich's bear hugs.
But it was at LAX that Trutanich may have repaid Ek for years of support. When LAX administrators recently wanted to evict HMS Host from holding the food concessions, Host hired Ek to lobby for them.
Trutanich stepped in when HMS Host lost the contract with LAX and Trutanich declared that there was a "conflict of interest" - no, not his close relationship with EK, but that one of the Airport commissioners who was to decide Host's appeal was a board member of CPK, one of Host's concessionaires.
As a result, the decision to remove HMS Host has been delayed, and HMS Host continues to supply what LA Weekly calls "lousy food" to passengers.
Trutanich also surprisingly removed the deputy city attorney who was assigned to the Airport and had supported LAX's decision to oust Host.
Some wonder whether the relationship between Trutanich and Ek is a little more fishy than a San Pedro luncheon. Perhaps explaining Trutanich's bid for DA - it will get him out of City Hall before the fish hits the fan.
stJust wondering... if the previous tenants couldn't afford the little convenience store on the 2nd floor of City Hall, how is "Homeboy Cafe" able to afford it? Are they getting a great deal, and yet City Employees are still on furlough/reduced pay? Are the "workers" going to be required to go through metal detectors?
In case you hadn't noticed, you haven't been flooded with responses to your request for decent stories around LA. Perhaps that's because there's not much decent in LA?
That Carmen the Clown is up to his ears in the pocket of a lobbyist isn't really news anyway. In September the Times had a piece that was similar to the LA Weekly one, only the removal of the deputy city attorney who stood up to Noooch wasn't mentioned.
I think it's time to give Noooch a taste of his own medicine - how about starting up a "Draft Paul Krekorian 4 City Attorney" website? We could make it a real effort instead of a cheesy flim-flam effort like Trutanich's. Hell, I bet we could even get Sheriff Baca to write the email invitation - just a cut and paste replacement of Noooch's name for Paul's.
The Gatto blog is saying that Mike Gatto lead the commemoration of the Armenian holocaust.
Another lie. That was done by Assembly Members Anthony Portantino and Katcho Achadjian.
Mayor Sam you should call them out on that one too.
Mike Gatto is a sweet dude. He will destroy you all.

How can you trust this "rough & tumble" blog to give you the truth?
Scott "Red Spot" Johnson used to write things 4x a day here until Gatto WON, despite the FACT that Red Spot posted LIES, provable LIES, about Gatto like saying he was once evicted from a building IN WHICH HE NEVER LIVED.
Higby didn't correct that until he got bitchslapped with the threat of a lawsuit. So, if it takes a bitchslapping to get the truth out of this blog, what makes you think you'd get the truth now????

Phil Jennerjahn has his dopey Congressional website up again with links to read the site in Russian and Spanish WITH NO CONTENT THERE!
In other words, he wants to APPEAR to be appealing to Russians and Latinos, but has absolutely NOTHING TO SAY.
Phil, if you're reading this, and we know you are, I have three words for you: CREST WHITE STRIPS. Now go cry to Higby about the comments.

I agree that Phil Jennerjahn needs Crest White Strips. Too bad he can't afford the $20 for them.
Who is this person who has such a fascination with Phil? So much that they always want to talk about him? Seems unhealthy to me.
