Is This The Kind of Offensive Material Mike Gatto Wants His Name Associated With?
A blog dedicated to Assemblyman Mike Gatto is amusing as it is disturbing; but some of the content on it does not seem befitting of an elected official. While one would assume that Gatto and his official staff have nothing to do with the Mike Gatto is a Sweet Dude blog (or at least HOPE!), we wonder why the Gattoistas have not (to our knowledge anyway) made public attempts to distance themselves from the blog and it's creators.
We published yesterday the blog's creation of a "Gatto Enemies List," that featured of course, us, as well as other bloggers and individuals in the community. The list is growing thankfully, and one of the additions is radio talk show host and mayoral candidate, Kevin James. Seething in their hate of anyone who doesn't have a regard for Gatto of the highest order, the blog noted that James is not an attorney. Of course, anyone who has a clue knows that James spent several years as a US Attorney and has been in private practice for many years.
We digress. The most disgusting thing however (outside some graphic references to the Los Angeles Dragnet blog and certain sex toys - NSFW) is a claim that former Gatto Assembly opponent and Glendale School Board Member, Nayiri Nahabedian wants Gatto sexually. If that isn't slander, I don't know what is. I would be surprised if Nahabedian's attorneys are not looking into the matter.
While we're fans of snarky, biting commentary and holding elected officials' feets to the fire, this Gatto themed blog has gone from amusing to disturbing to disgusting. We would encourage each of you to contact the office of Assemblyman Mike Gatto (by web or by phone at: (818) 558-3043) and urge he publicly denounce it.
The scary thing is this blog has announced the coming of a "Kidz Korner." Any parent who allows their children to even get close to a blog with the filth this one publishes likely should be reported to Child Protective Services.

oh posh. you guys can't take a little ribbing? you dish it out all the time. so what if we posted a picture with some toy dongers. really? that offends you that much? then heavens to besty, you better stay off the internet!
you're just mad because you guys had mike gatto and don't like it that other people think he's cool.
try not to get to huffy and puffy and humorless about the fact that mike gatto is a handsome guy. so we make some jokes about how people are jealous of that. it makes sense to me. if you could push a button and be as good looking as mike gatto, would you push it? i think so.

No wonder the state is in the shitter with guy like this in Sacramento.
I worked in the Assembly as a staffer in the Willie Brown era, a guy like Gatto would not have lasted six months at that time.
oh please... our comments weren't anti-women. if any of you had taken the time to actually read our site instead of believing the narrow view mike higby is perpetrating, then you'd see we'd made the same claims about plenty of men too.
As a member of LA NOW I plan to write a letter to our legislative affairs committee to address this blog and Mike Gatto.
don't try to put our words in gatto's mouth. yes, we've been known indulge the occasional instance of crude humor in expressing our opinions about the news -- when mocking both males and females. but our views do not represent the views of anyone but ourselves. so quit trying to manufacture controversy where none exists. if you have a problem with freedom of speech, i suggest you take it up with our founding fathers.
BY THE WAY... did you guys completely fail to notice mayor sam made a joke about our panties getting wet for mike gatto. how many protest letters do you plan to fire off over that one?

I hear there are already efforts underway to primary Gatto with Nayiri herself thanks to some feminist types.
