Mid-Day Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Scene for Monday
"Big Montiel is watching you in public housing".Great bloated Monday and start to Rivalry Week in Ciudad de Los Angeles, as the City Council adjourns its high-salary proceedings for the annual junket to the "League of Municipal Fiefdoms Conference". Wonder if former City of Bell Administrator "Ratzo Rizzo" will host a workshop on municipal self-enrichment?
One person who is enriching himself courtesy of the taxpayers is Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA for short) $400,000+ Executive Director Rudy Montiel, who is quickly becoming the LA Times latest "poster bureaucrat" for public salary scrutiny.
Montiel, with his willing allies in City Hall, has attempted to franchise out HACLA's various housing projects and reap the financial windfalls of this endeavor. Thus, you get Montiel's current salary. But it is Montiel's actions against those who dare protest his efforts that is making Montiel the latest "paranoid bureaucrat". This in light of his actions that may cost the City of Los Angeles money in lawsuits by HACLA tenants, who faced wrongful-eviction for protesting Montiel's proposals.
BTW, we hear that someone in HACLA's upper management may have bail out the "connected non-profit Legacy LA", with a new home in the Ramona Gardens Projects. A source speculated that Legacy LA Executive Director Lou Calanche went to someone in HACLA and all of a sudden, a portable trailer was installed.
It should be noted that when Legacy LA was constituted, they had as an "advisor for redevelopment" Dalila Sotelo, who once was a Vice-President for the connected affordable-housing builder McCormick, Barron and Salazar. Sotelo now earns her public paycheck as an employee of CRA.

** The "Observing West LA and its regional Times Blog", has multiple posts on West LA's "Lord Board's" profile in the New Yorker Magazine, that chronicles how he "took over Downtown Los Angeles".
** Remember the name of Hector Villagra, when some punk assemblyman comes seeking to impede on your First Amendment rights, as he is named the successor to Ramona Ripston at the Los Angeles office of the ACLU.
** Will new California Governor Bitter Jerry, have what it takes to stop the Golden State's slide into a fiscal meltdown?

The Mexican Mafia thug Cardenas is a complete moron. Paocima has many gangs in "his" area. He should know he keeps giving them money and they keep getting arrested. Cardenas is nothing more then a THUG in a suit. He's an uneducated Latino who shockingly is in office. He's as corrupt as the rest of the Latino politicans, now he's acting like a crybaby because he doesn't like the fact his area's gangs are acting up. Shut the hell up CARDENAS and try and behave like a Man for change not a girl.

If you pay attention, the Council members aren't supposed to be educated politicians. They're supposed to be people that represent that area. You just need to know how to get things done. Are you sure Cardenas isn't educated?
THESE POLITIANS ARE SMART ENOUGH TO GET 60,000 CLOWNS TO VOTE FOR THEM AND TALK ABOUT THEM. YOU GUYS CONTINUE LIKE THE PRESS TO PROMOTE THESE SCUM BAGS. PEOPLE ARE RUNNING AGAINST THEM LETS HERE FROM THEM. MAKE THIS SITE WORTH SOMETHING OTHER THAN B.S.
