This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

I didn't bother to watch the video because whatever Joe B. posts, you already know what its bent is.
I'm an independent voter who until 2008 always voted Dem.
Sarah Palin is the second most influential political figure in the U.S. That's why Joe B. sounds so nervous nowadays. He can't figure out why such a smalltown woman is more influential than a sitting president.
Only Bill Clinton is more influential.
That is, she is more influential than Barak Obama.

Oil is the lifeblood of America and always will be. Drill, Baby, Drill and get us off the Arab tit. Green tech is a lie brought to you by liberals. Yes on 23, and Sarah Pailin for President in 2012!

Joe,
KNBC reported on its 11pm news a minute ago that Boxer leads Fiorina by only 2 points.
Will you claim victory if the Dems win only 1 of the 2 major races (Gov, Sen)?
Just curious.

I agree that oil will remain on America's agenda for at least a few more generations.
Candidates talk about "green jobs," but it's a nebulous, vague term.
There is still plenty of oil in North America and its shores, and we won't get into panic mode or a transition until much of it is used. Probably not until much later in our lives.

11:04, Great question! Thank you!
I don't think "Victory" is determined by particular races in a given year, rather it is more of a 3 steps forward, 2 steps back long haul that spans decades at the very least. Having said that,it looks like Brown is in good shape, Boxer still has some work to do, but I'm hearing from my Republican friends that they are now willing to give Brown the vote (Meg is clueless) and Carly comes across as just plain scary weird.
Anonymous said:
Uh, yeah, Joe. You don't have Republican friends, other than Higby.
VERY doubtful that they are "all of a sudden" going to give Brown a chance, AND that Carly is "scary," but Boxer isn't.
Pardon my doubt, but I think you're full of shit. I'm a former Dem, but not a Republican, and I don't know a single Republican, let alone many or most who would buy into what you're saying.
So I'm saying it respectfully to you as a person, but I think you're full of shit. It bears repeating.
Have a good night. As someone else mentioned, the more you post these silly rants, the more it seems like you are losing it a bit. We GET what you stand for already. Is there nothing else you can write about?
It's like you're a liberal version of Phil Jennerjahn.

"a liberal version of Phil Jennerjahn".
OUCH!

No Republican is voting for Brown or Boxer.
Some are voting for the Libertarian or American Independent Candidates but even those people realize that Brown and Boxer are a far worse choice than Carly and Meg.
It will be a bloodbath on November 2nd, that is for sure.

Boxer's not running a good campaign. After all those years in office she should have a lot more that she's done to talk about, not negative ads about Fiorina as "too extreme for California." Although it's true Fiorina was a lousy CEO and like Whitman lived high on the company hog while laying people off.
Boxer should be talking more about being instrumental in getting federal funding for transportation projects, like the rail and subway which is why i'm voting for her. The Republican NIMBYs think we should stay a car only culture.

Joe,
Please tell me it's a coincidence that you thought up that title during a week that the news reported a surfer was killed by a shark.
Unknown said:
Actually, many Republicans are voting for Brown. Jerry is seen as competent and Meg is just that unappealing. And everyone knows a third party vote is a waste of time.

Here's a Republican voting for Brown/Boxer in today's paper;

HAHA.... WRONG AGAIN!
I happen to know a certain conservative Republican (voting Cooley for sure but also thinks Palin is a joke) but voting for Brown and NO on 23.
"FOLLOW THE MONEY!" he said, re 23.
Ok, I gotta go. He's taking me to Starbucks now!

Joe....if this is "in the bag" for Brown...and Boxer will eck out a win.....why do you have to remind yourself daily of it?? Nervous?? And I agree with Higby, I know of NO republicans voting for Brown, regardless of what you or Valley Dope says. All you two are doing is showing all of us your terrified of November 2nd results. We will see who is right.

There's a reason why the ads for some Democrats are mentioning the Palin endorsement of their opponents.
A recent survey of undecided voters by the Public Policy Polling folks show Palin's approval rating at an historical low level (17%). When Bush left office he was only at 22%. Right now only BP is lower at 16%.
65% said they disapproved of Palin which is an outstandinly high number.
Obama's like/dislike was even at 44%.
