Wonder if misrepresenting yourself as someone who claimed to be able to properly represent Boyle Heights in Los Angeles even though you are from Logan Heights in San Diego, misspending government funds on lavish dinners with expensive bottles of wine and supporting non-profits that work against the community's interest is the kind of example that would lead youth to think they can get away with anything.

This is what happens when our political leaders set a bad example for the sake of seeking fame and glory rather than taking care of home with good morals and hard work. (Villaraigosa, Alarcon, Cedillo, Perez, DeLeon are you listening)

Hopefully these and other politicians will consider the old saying "What goes around comes around".

MAYBE, if Fabian spent more time with his family, instead of on wine junkets to Paris, his son would be free, his friend would be free, and another young man would be breathing today.

It's on you, daddy. The child is most often a reflection of the care received from the parents. And when the child kills, it's usually not something that the mother did, but the father.

There's still sentencing to be done and you can bet that the plea was not made without making some arrangements on the DA's recommendation for sentencing.

I think that this will still be something of a sentence for the son of the former State Assembly Speaker more than for a young killer who did all he could to conceal and then deny the crime.

But what else is new here? I can't see this deal going down without some good deal on sentencing. The deal was announced during jury selection so they went almost as far as they could go before the trial started.

This blog continues to be racist against Latinos. We don't know that Esteban was guilty. This blog will be investigated for it's hate crimes by the city.

That was an unfair prosecution. He wasn't murdering anyone. He was just showing them how they do it in Sac Town.

The sentence he received is an outrage!! If it were anyone else he would have been charged with Murder, not Manslaughter. Nunez intentionally killed a person, what is this garbage! It's apparently a very obvious fix. Anyone who votes for Fabian and his friends in the future needs their head examined! This has nothing to do with race, it has to do with justice for the murdered student. I have no clue what his heritage is, but my heart breaks for his parents loss. Shame on the court system for bargining and letting Nunez get away with murder!
