Christine Essel FINALLY appears on the Kevin James Show.
Tuesday night was the night that many people in Council District 2 had been waiting for. CD 2 candidate Christine Essel finally agreed to go on Kevin James' radio show on KRLA 870 talk radio. The meeting was highly anticipated because Kevin James had been bashing Christine Essel quite hard on his show for refusing to come on his show and talk to the voters...even though all the other candidates had chosen to do so in the past.
Fans of the show were curious to see what would happen and if sparks would fly between them. Kevin James had been previously going on his show and saying "I wouldn't vote for Christine Essel if she were the only name on the ballot!" Christine Essel was probably being a bit guarded because of this fact, but the appearance on the show went well for both of them.
James pointed out that she had outraised Krekorian. He pointed out that she is still behind Krekorian in name recognition. Chris said she was very happy to go from 3% at the beginning of the campaign to almost matching Paul at the end of the primary.
Talking about the endorsements from former rivals, Kevin James quoted the Mayor Sam blog!!
"Essel 4 Krekorian 0!!" Thanks Kevin!
Chris kind of waffled on a question concerning unpaid wages and lawsuits. She said she would look into it.
She needs a better answer than that.
Kevin asked her about the Neighborhood Council embezzlement scandal involving people blowing through all the NC budgets without reporting properly. He asked if Paul Krekorian was opposed to financial disclosures, and Chris said he was the last time they had a forum together.
James asked her about runaway film production and asked her to respond to his criticisms of her.
Christine gave a great answer about how studios search for a location with a bottom line price that fits their budget. She talked about her frustrations dealing with Sacramento over this issue. Kevin asked how we could bring the jobs back to this City. Christine said the city was not friendly to business or to the studios. She talked about how she could work between the State and the studios to keep jobs here.
James mentioned Krekorians boasts about saving jobs from up in Sacramento. He asked if Chris thought Krekorian was overplaying his impact, Chris said yes.
James mentioned how Christine would be back on KRLA for a debate with Paul Krekorian in the future.

I forgot to add that you are obligated to mention that you've endorsed Chris.
Publishing articles about her, without telling the readers EACH time that you've done this is a shoddy lack of disclosure.
What Kevin forgot to say is that the four who endorsed Essel are goofball idiot candidates who got less votes than Phil did for Mayor. no one cares about. Did she offer them jobs?
Krekorian is endorsed by actual community leaders like Louis Pugliese and Richard Close and every Neighborhood Council in the District.

Higby your boy Kevin James didn't ask Essel about her holocaust denial. He said it didn't matter because its not a CD2 issue. Give him a call and school him.

Knowing Kevin James, I kind of expect there was more meat to this. I guess even Phil knows if there isn't substance avoid details.
If Chris was this vague boy Phil needs to rethink his position.
And yes Phil, if you want anyone to take you seriously and not turn you into a hacky sack - acknowledge who you are endorsing. Otherwise this just looks like really bad, lazy reporting.
I heard what James said in response to a caller that mentioned the Armenian genocide issue swirling around Essel. James said that he didn't ask her about the Armenian genocide issue she has been in the middle of because he had not looked into it enough yet to determine whether the criticism had been fair and to determine its relation to CD 2 issues.
Apparently the Essel campaign has released a statement about the Armenian genocide issue connected to a fundraiser she attended.
Phil, do not let Higby bully you on the issue. You stand up for what you believe.
I doubt that Higby will even let me REFER to the former blogger on this site who now has his own blog, but if you joined him, it would really take Higby down a few notches. And the other blogger likes Ess-hole too.
Based on this piece of "reporting," you'd never know the real issues that are of concern to CD2 voters, such as over-development, traffic, implementation of SB1818, violations of specific plans, community plans, over-development (can never stress that enough), need for DWP ratepayer advocate, pension and budget problems, and more.
The problem is, of course, that these are also some of the topics that Essel is terrified of discussing too.
Essel's statement was that the Armenians are protesting too loud.
Phil and the fired MayorSam bloggers have their own blogs (multiple blogs). They don't get the traffic of blogs such as MayorSam , LAist, LAOBserved, when it comes to politics.
That's why those "Bloggers" comment here. For clicky-clicks.

Essel's statement has been that she is not sure their was a Genocide or not.
I guess for enough money you can get Essel to say any thing.
Essel would not know an Armenian from a hole in the wall.

REAL CANDIDATES DON'T SELL THEIR SOULS TO WIN ELECTIONS BUT HAVE REAL PLANS AND IDEALS. TOO BAD MANY IN THIS DISTRICT CAN'T SEE THRU THAT.
