State Assembly Reverses Gas Tax $ Heist from LA Co
Breaking News from mayoral spokeshole Matt Szabo:
"CA legislature just voted to REJECT the proposal to take more than $60m in gas tax from LA residents, consistent w myr's rec"
Villaraigosa to hold press conference today to take credit for the LA County Supervisors' lawsuit that scared State legislators enough to reverse themselves. CITY HALL. 4:15 PM.
LA City CD 2 candidate Paul Krekorian claims: "We killed the gas tax takeaway in the Assembly after the Senate had passed it, in large measure due to my leadership."
Overall, this is good news for Los Angeles City and County streets, and probably bad news for anyone who gets still paid to provide State social services, State education, and State parks.

Big coup for Paul Krekorian. This will be a huge issue on the positive ledger for him.
I hate it to admit it, but this is a pretty big win for krekorian. the budget was a real liability for him and he just flipped it into a win for himself
This is more of killing a negative for Krekorian than a positive.
Its one less thing they can attack him on.
This race has always been his to lose any way.
This was a pretty interesting play, the mayors team hold a press conference yesterday to give their Chrissy girl Essel an attack line against Krekorian.
After all that they, ended up having their behinds handed to them.
They got beat in their own game.
Not hard to see who has the more politically skillful group in this fight.
Lets see who is more likely to have killed this:
1- The Mayor of Los Angeles
2- A leadership person in Sacramento
Conclusion
Not the mayor but the other guy killed it.
I don't like Krikorian but he killed the Gov. taking of the gas tax and saved $ to repair my local streets

He also from what I see was one of the votes that killed the governors plan of offshore drilling! protecting our Beaches from oil spills. Zumadog must like that too!
This is mass points for Krikorian.
5:32 = one of those supporters of Krekorian or Essel or Tamar or anyone who has been "tainted" by any association whatsoever by the mayor, so is clever enough to endorse THIS backhanded way instead of outright. Or they'll be jumped on in this blog because the ONLY acceptable point of view is to trash them and treat Zuma dogg and Nuch with admiration because they hate the mayor.
Since these two aren't so close anymore, we have a dilemma but can only hope that zuma will see the light and realize he's been used for a bigger cause than himself.
Okay, so the mayor was upset that the State would take City revenue.
Now the mayor should know how we feel when the City takes our money.
Speaking of money, will we ever get that DWP rebate?

We had a Twitter window open and grabbed it almost the second it came up, having already been alerted to watch for more info by earlier tweets from other source including Matt Szabo.
Could be that Krekorian's people thought better of the language and deleted the first tweet after we picked it up.
Unfortunately there is no way to tell now if Krekorian deleted the original.
Checking Twitter now, and yeah, actually - the tweet from Krekorian we grabbed was tweeted before he tweeted this one:

Now the one you @10:24 quoted appears after this one. Thus it is highly likely they deleted the first one.

Krekorian is a pimp. He will only take credit for that which helps his political career.
Notice how he conveniently forgets to mention he was in the State Assembly voting "yes" for all the budget-destroying insanity over the last three years.
The man has no shame.
The ugly reality is that he stands a very high chance of being the new CD 2 man. Simply because the others are somewhat unknown.

6000 voters in north CD2 voted for Lou Pugliese just in March from a powerful anti-establishment campaign.
Make no mistake- at least up there, for the rank and file voters, he is MUCH better known than Krekorian.
Very relevant in a crowded election expected to draw only 10,000 votes.
