LAPD says costs were only $1 million which they easily recoup'd in Paypal donations. Once again you are jealous idiot losers.

If Perry weren't a black woman the Times would have slammed her. They figure they've had a "first Latino mayor in 150 years," they've had a black male in Bradley, and Obama broke another glass ceiling so she's the untried frontier. But she was clueless by her own design and can't pin everything on the mayor's office. She should have made it her business to know the details of the memorial AND the funeral at Forest Lawn instead of admitting to reporters "I have no information on that."
Her saying "it would be nice" if AEG and the Jacksons kickedk in is lame.
Zine is going around attacking AEG as though they were toxic polluters or something instead of a business and yes they should have been made to help defray the expenses and the Jacksons too, above and beyond the "normal" for a dignitary, because this is a SHOW that both Jacksons and AEG will profit from.
But Zine IS a no-class moron like the AEG guy said in the WAY he's using this to get PR for himself instead of having acted businesslike in the first place.
Zine, Perry are both idiots and can point the finger at each other and the mayor all they want.
And Trutanich also points the finger and grandstands but then on Kevin James admitted he'd been informed by LAPD and the city meaning Zine, all along. They're all just fools. The Times trying to puff up Perry is just another case of its editorializing on its city beat pages.

Fuck them all!
Sick of all the fucked up corrupt LA politics.
Antonio, you should try taking the bar exam again so that you can realize you are nothing but a FAILURE at everything you do!

Once again our Mayor is calling on all the folks he has diverted millions of dollars of tax payer money to. It is time to pay the piper and start throwing some of that dinero back at his slate of candidates running for CD2. After all he had to cough up over 2 million to get Tamara on the school board. Surely with three horses in the race he will need atleast one hundred fifty thousand each to hedge his bet.

2:28pm No one believes anything coming out of the Mayor's office. I want the Mayor to do a photo op to tell the taxpayers of this city how much he's collected on PayPal and where its going. They already cut LAPD budget and you are lying cause they have not recouped the $1 mil they spent yesterday. A leader with a brain would have dealt with the situation while on vacation like all executives do. But I forgot we have a low life gang banger Mayor without a brain that screwed everything up again because he's with his new piece of ass. Didn't he do that with Mirthala?

UH, 2:28, REALLY? LAPD says that, so it MUST be true?
3,500 cops working on overtime starting as early as 2 a.m. (read Steve Lopez's piece in the Times) -- for 6-8 hours apiece?
Have some GED student do the math for you. That would mean that the average cop out there was only making $20 an hour.
That would mean that their average salary is only about $40K a year.
According to the LAPD's OWN website . . . "The starting base salary for high school graduates is $56,522."
Those numbers wouldn't work even if EVERY cop out there was a recruit, not even out of the academy yet.
YEAH, believe what your government flacks tell you. . . THAT'll work.

Ok, kids...here's another view at the situation. I was one of the lucky ones and went to the memorial.
In a nutshell, I have never seen such a waste of taxpayer money. Never!
I'm amazed no one is saying anything about the fact that LAPD was totally over deployed with 1,400 officers on scene. I mean we had 25 officers standing on every fourth and fifth street corner with nothing to do and almost no traffic cops.
The lack of traffic cops was the most disturbing, especially since people were really stressed to get into their parking areas and had to make numerous D-tours to get to where they needed to go. It was bumper-to-bumper chaos with no one to ask for directions. Meanwhile, LAPD was standing on street corners in large groups, scratching their heads wondering why so many of them were deployed when only 2000 fans showed up.
In my estimation there only needed to be 30% of the officers there that were actually there. There should have been 60% more traffic cops.
Also, at the checkpoint for the entry into the guarded off area, where wristbands and parking passes needed to be shown, only three cops were effectively on duty where I was, working hard to make sure everyone who was authorized got in and those who were not did not.
Officers on bike patrol were an absolute waste of money, as they did noting at all. The same goes for the mounted unit and the Segway cops.
If I were the City and I had to ask AEG to help pay for costs, I would ask for 40% of what was spent on the memorial. That was all that was needed even if the turnout would have been larger.

Oh sorry. I stand corrected on my last post at 8:18pm. I said there were 1,400 officers deployed. It was actually 3,200 LAPD officers.

CNN reporting that LA raised 17K with their "donations" plan.
CNN failed to report that acting Mayor Jan Perry is incompetent.
Anonymous said:
Well Phil, I guess they didn't share Kevin James's opinion that Jan Perry is "stupid, an idiot, a moron, an incompetent," did he forget anything?

Its always morons who think they have the expertise to be talking about a subject they know nothing about. First of all even though 3,200 officers were deployed the media stated over and over 1,800 were let go because with all the media saying thousands would show up that didn't happen. And if those hundreds of thousands would have showed up you guys would be crying there weren't enough cops. You have no idea what happens behind the scenes like possible threats, anarchists which we had a lot of during other events, gang bangers and much more. The only people it seems who did their job right were the 1st responders. People say Fox Lady is really Bitter Bernie in drag

7:16 am - "Bitter Bernie in drag?" That is very creative. I really got a good chuckle out of that one.
Just because the LAPD Jackson memorial deployment was another version of Bratton overreacting like he did with May Day Melee does not make my view wrong. After all, I was there and saw it. He wasted taxpayer money big time.
I just think that Bratton missed his true calling. He treats the LAPD like they are his German army. They are not an army and he is not a general. The Jackson memorial situation is another example that Chief Bratton demonstrates delusions of grandeur when it comes to a reasonable response to a major situation. Overcompensating at taxpayer expense to cover his own rear? What do you call that?
I call it totally irresponsible!

How is it different than any other day when lazy cops get paid to stand around and do nothing...at least they were standing and not sitting on their fat asses at Starbucks or in their cars looking for high school girls to pick up on. LAPD's worthless when it comes to responding. Try calling them to prevent a crime from happening, and they'll tell you they don't dispatch unless the crime has actually been committed! What good are they after the fact..to stand around and do nothing!
