...And then there were 3!!
City Clerks Office website shows that State Assemblyman Paul Krekorian will be joined on the ballot for the Council District 2 election in September by former Paramount Pictures executive Christine Essel, and Los Angeles County Commissioner Jozef "Joe" Essavi. Congrats to Jozef, because of those three, I could only support him. However, other candidates are still out there on the trail.
Local businessman Frank Sheftel just missed hitting the mark with his signature petitions. Campaign Manager David Hernandez assures me that Frank will be on the ballot. "We only missed by 67 signatures, and we are out getting those right now," he said.

BASTARD!!!
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has an opening in his office of Communications for the director of speechwriting and is looking for someone with a passion for politics and a strong work ethic.
· Work with Deputy Mayor and Lead Spokesperson in developing long-term message and strategy;
· Draft speeches, statements, talking points and op-eds;
· Review and edit press releases, advisories and website content;
· Salary commensurate with experience.
The Office of Communications operates in a fast pace, high energy environment serving a dynamic mayor who has set a bold agenda around reforming public schools, investing in the green economy and building a first rate transportation system in Los Angeles.
If you are interested in applying for the position, please send your resume and cover letter to mayor.press@lacity.org.

Probably the new staffer will be assigned to TROLL on Mayor Sam.

meanwhile, how many of the 240,000 valid signatures does phil have for the antonio recall?
he probably has less than 15% of what frank sheftel has.
i can't wait to have phil come back to city council and try to explain how he was only off by 239,700 valid signatures. then he will try to parlay that into more chances to wear his poorly fitted suit he borrowed from his brother or uncle.

To those who keep provoking me about the recall of Antonio Villaraigosa...
Keep it up. You will see what happens.
I have several months to organize the city and communities of LA. Animosity towards Villaraigosa is running very high. He was BOOED at the Laker celebration.
I need about 5000 people who are willing to go get 50 signatures from their neighbors. I could get 100 or 200 easy. Hell, 70,000 people voted for Walter Moore. Do you honestly think any of his supporters WOULDN'T support a recall??
If it happens, it will be the biggest bitch-slap of Antonios life. It would be the end of his political career. And you third floor spinmeisters will have to go seek employment in the free market, (which actually requires results.)
I'm not in a hurry. Antonio might end up in handcuffs before I can even file the recall papers.

I don't live in CD2 but I hope that they can avoid what happened to us in CD7. A guy who is looking for an increased pay grade moves into your district and runs and wins a seat. You end up with a professional politician who is thinking about his next pension instead of someone who really cares. Hell, at least Alarcon lived in the same city.
I don't like carpet baggers. The residency rules should be stricter at least a year of residency prior to filing should be required for anyone who runs for council.

I've never condoned Zuma's behavior in Council - he doesn't understand that it's not like his own show or street people act where that stuff gets attention and is fine there, but even real actors have to act with "decorum" in a government body.
HOWEVER it's pathetic looking at his own blog and listening to what's been happening to him, and how Nuch went out of his way on Thanksgiving to call him and give thanks for having met him as the best thing to have happened to him and promise him a job in so many words. But now to say he won't even listen to him because he doesn't like his voice or manner.
Nothing has changed about Zuma then and who he is now, so this is just about using people and lying to them to get what you need from them.
Like Laura Chick, except no one cares what Zuma says or feels. Dennis Zine has done similar things, used Zuma to get out his hits on Jack Weiss, but not to the same extent apparently.
Zuma says Nuch's people explicitly called him over and over, pushing him to do and say more to attack Jack Weiss, who like him or hate him always was upfront about what he thinks and doesn't put on the phony act, but now Nuch's people curl up their noses at him. "Especially Dan." The fundraiser and another Weiss hit-man from the eastside. Even Baca and Cooley thanked Zuma in person (but I'm sure dropped him like a hot potato soon as he won).
Nuch was on Kevin James last night again, and they're hoping to run him for Mayor in 013, which helps explain this crazy grandstanding of his, and why he's trying to make Wendy Greuel out to be an idiot who is trying to fleece the taxpayers by sticking them with the bill for Chick's legal fees.
After Nuch swore up and down to support the both of them -- it sure was obvious from the way she'd endorsed Jack Weiss but then wouldn't say a good word about him so as not to offend Nuch.
He used HER too, and is trying to brand her as the Mayor's lapdog too, and is going to keep working that angle for the next 3 years.
If the guy were any more transparent he'd be a pane of glass. So this started out with him and Cooley wanting to groom him for DA but before he even took office they upped the ante to Mayor, for a Republican sweep, with other Republicans picked out to replace the City Attorney, DA and Controller. Nothing like ego.
Sounds like a little wrinkle in their plans has hit already, as they couldn't wait to throw people under the bus and start getting even former supporters really mad.

That's another thing we've seen from Nuch's camp, disrespect for freedom of speech except when THEY used it.
Like when they used Zuma Dogg but now support silencing him.

Those of us in the Admin pool have been probably too lax in not cutting off the continual rants from our pet 5150s because we do err on the side of freedom of speech.
It's pretty obvious this is just one or two individuals who rant all day long. Hopefully those with real problems will have an epifany some day soon and get themselves some professional help.
Meanwhile, we'll try to do a better job of reducing the rants and posts that are just name calling thinly disguised as information.

There has to be a job that Zuma dogg is capable of doing, not just because he was promised one.
You do know what they call that? Pay for Play. If Zuma isn't qualified for a job, he shouldn't be given one, no matter what the promise.
He allowed himself to be the victim of political campaign lies. But that's not our problem, that's zuma dogg's problem.
Mr. "I worked in radio" should try to get an internship in a radio station then, not in the city attorney's office.
Better idea: if zuma thinks he can work in the city attorney's office, let him apply for loans and try to get into a law SCHOOL. Does zuma have at leasta bachelor's degree, or does he think he's entitled to jump over that qualification, too?
Zuma Dogg said:
9:15am,
If you wanna drag this out into the light and keep it going, that is what is happening if I have to respond.
"if zuma thinks he can work in the city attorney's office."
You should ask Carmen, because he is the one who voulenarily said, "If I win the election I am going to give you a job."
Maybe cleaning his car or taking his laundry to the cleaners out of his own money. He didn't specify. But again, I never asked...he said it on his own, so excuse me.
AND since you want to put in your two cents, Mr. Voulenteer, I also had conversations with someone from the Trutanich Transition Team (SO THAT WAS AFTER THE ELECTION) who said he had conversations with other Trutanich Transition Team members (now hired as senior members of his administration) about Zuma Dogg and how he may fit in. That is if you believe that the person who was telling me this was being truthful. I don't know why he would say, "I was talking to "So and So" and "So and So" about you and they all agree...blah, blah, blah...and being able to continue to blog is very important.
So crybaby, as you can see, you should be complaining to the Trutanich folks about whether you think ZD is qualified to work in the office since it was brought up to me, and I didn't bring it up to them.
AND, Nuch never said, "in the city attorney's office" although looks like my services as a strategist may be of value. I mean...my message kinda resonates with the public, nobody knows that more than YOU, 9:15.
But that's o.k...stay cocky and keep making it about me. And I'll keep telling more and more...and Zuma Dogg can tell you ONE thing...ZD is all about karma and energy and I have the history of looking back and seeing how things go. I can tell you...you are going to take on this challenge and you will look back in a year and say, "Damn...what happened...where did it all go wrong. Call Zuma Dogg."
YOU CAN LAUGH NOW ALL YOU WANT. You are triggering the same karma that I went through in radio...and you've heard all about that. Walk right into, baby.
I've told my personal story, but as I have said, and as you know, I do not let that cross over into my coverage of the office and have been supportive on TV and radio of what I am hearing and seeing out of the office.
But hey....keep pressing me and we can just go ALL PERSONAL and I can go BIGGER with all of this, and just talk more and more about this.
I guess that's up to you. You KNOW which one is more fun for me and you know what the readers would prefer.
You know me...I'm good at staying impartial and pragmatic because I DO feel a community karma force keeps me in check, the same way Spiderman couldn't use his powers against the community. He learned his lesson early on about the force of the community karma.
BUT, when you, not just your average community member, but more of a professional political type starts going down this path...WELL, ask council and the mayor how things have ended up turning out for them SINCE Zuma Dogg entered Chambers. So feel free to tap into that energy.
I'M BITTER, DOWN AND OUT WITH NOTHING TO LOSE, AND READY TO GO!
And if YOU, 9:15 would like to know a good angle to be investigated in the MJ/AEG Event toward the goal of re-couping costs, give me a call. I can talk to you about it and read a memo a city worker sent me on the matter, at the rate of only $700 and hour.
I'd post it myself for free, but Zuma Dogg is SO not qualified, I'm sure YOUR TEAM has this angle covered. (Right? I HOPE you do. It's obvious, right? I mean, just cause an inside city worker sent this to me, EVERYONE knows this, right?) What am I talking about? Who cares...I'm sure it's being covered by Team 9:15!
[You know, although I posted my blog story about the Nuch/ZD job thing...I didn't send it out in an email blast yet to my entire email data base along with the Mayor Sam/Petrafied post on the matter.

9:15 is right that Zuma isn't qualified for a job in the City Attorney's office on OUR payroll. But then neither was the guy who was his driver qualified to become a Deputy City Attorney just like that, when he couldn't get a job in the private world as a lawyer in the first place so wasn't even any good.
At least hadn't earned this job.
And yet Carmen did promise Zuma some kind of job, that's the point here. So he should do it out of his OWN pocket not ours. How many OTHER unqualified people has Carmen hired so far as "payback?"
And frankly I never say why he had to want to fire Rocky's 7 guys (the 8th is working for Koretz) just BECAUSE they'd worked for Rocky personally. All the other City Attorney's staff got to stay on, and these guys were qualified.
Yet the Council agreed to raid a "consumer protection fund" just because Trutanich and Zine wanted to put in their OWN people for payback, and COOLEY was all over talk radio telling Kevin James AND Doug who was sympathetic at the time, he was making Trutanich demand this.
Even though it came out of CITY dollars and Cooley's meddling was less appropriate than if Antonovich or Knabe or Molina or Zev were ordering some City Attorney to make demands on City coffers. They'd NEVER be so brazen. But Cooley, Trutanich and Zine got away with it somehow. He's had whatever he wants. But this Zuma job promise is between HIM and Zuma as matter of honor.
NOW here's the thing, I don't know why Zuma is attacking Eric all of a sudden about their clamping down on public comment because it's NOW that Nuch is City Attorney and Zuma is saying things like this to 9:15, that the Council is being pushed. Notice how it was ZINE who ended the meeting when Hunt showed up in KKK outfit, how HE'S the one who started the tough line?
None of these councilmembers did a thing but smile when Zuma bashed Jack Weiss for the past 2 years, as did this blog. Other than maybe Smith or LaBonge sometimes. Some secretly loved eating one of their own, never realizing that if he was gone, they'd be next. That they were ALL hated as City Hall.
That might explain why Alarcon is so anxious about public comment lately. (Smith I have to admit is a straight shooter, who doesn't like nastiness WHOEVER it's directed at and is the only one who stood up for Weiss when Chick claimed not to know about his and WEiss's work for years on rape kits, so she could claim she discovered it. But when he disagreed with Weiss over LAX and increasing LAPD, he said so.)
Obviously Trutanich team is afraid Zuma will make good on his 11:22 comment and tell the world things he knows about Nuch. Just as Zuma has done about Weiss, they couldn't stand the tables turned.
Eric's face looks so pained lately they MUST be pressuring him or holding something over HIS head.
So Zuma, if you have a beef with Nuch's team over promises, don't take it out on Eric. Don't expect the taxpayers to get you a job to reward your behavior over the years. Take it up with Nuch as a PERSONAL debt. Be HIS driver, or personal assistant or gopher. OR just give him a bill for services already rendered for going into council and to meetings all over town doing his dirty work. It's YOUR personal negotiation.
Anonymous said:
Zuma should get Dan Wright to make good on his promises to zuma that if he did all that dirty work for Nuch, he'd get a job. But I agree, not at city expense, sorry Zuma, but you've already turned city hall into a circus and used up too much taxpayer money doing it. But by that token, Nuch should reimburse the city for the amount of election campaigning he did under the guise of "public comment" using zuma. AND others.
Zuma Dogg said:
12:07, "So Zuma, if you have a beef with Nuch's team over promises, don't take it out on Eric."

Typical how a couple of posts have been removed - weren't they Zuma's giving some facts about his work for Trutanich's campaign, and about his fundraiser Dan Wright? While this blog explicitly deals in rumor and innuendo and hit jobs on others like Huizzy, Weiss and Antonio especially. What a farce.
Zuma, why do you think Dan Wright was pushing you so hard to raise money for Trutanich (and now forgot all about you?). He's in real estate -- follow the money. Though they're trying to hide the trails... just more pay to play. Of course he has no time or need to be Capt. Jack Sparrow anymore -- goodbye Mrs. kettlebaum, too.
