Zuma Dogg Exclusive on Trutanich Transition
This morning I was tipped off by a private Mayor Sam snoop that Zuma Dogg was inolved in a high level conference call with City Attorney-Elect Carmen Trutanich. According to my high level snoop Mr. Dogg and Mr. Trutanich reviewed some breaking details on the coming Los Angeles Reformation, that is the escorting out of the City Attorney's office of a one Mr. Rockard J. Delgadillo and the impending disinfecting of that office by Mr. Nuch.
You could read the full details at Zuma's blog however the most significant item is that Trutanich has designated the Republican-Democratic Armenian- Jewish duality of Roberts featuring former District Attorney Robert Philobosian and former California Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg to head up the transition team and to make all the major hiring decisions.

Do you know for a fact zuma was invited to sit in on a conference call by Nuch or did he make it up? This was announced all over.
Nearly everyone in the City Attorney's office is civil service and represented by the EAA. There are some political appointees.

Alright y'all...here's how I came up with the Nuch scoop.
I called Nuch today, as anyone could have, because it's the phone number from his card he handed out during the campaign.
Well y'all know Zuma Dogg, and I make calls all day long to people from the mayor's office, to council, to various departments and people in the community...ZD makes the rounds.
So I called Nuch to update him on something I wanted him to be aware of.
And you know ZD, I'm always gonna try to pump you for at least a little something interesting, so when Nuch was telling me how he was looking at billboard policies from across the country and some other things he was reviewing, I simply say, "Wow! How do you read all that leagalese. You can't read every single word, yourself? You must have to have a bunch of good people helping.
He says, "Of course, it's about having a good team."
So in an attempt to dazzle ZD, right out of the gate, he says, "How about..."
"How about..."
"How about..."
describing their experience of expertise in each area.
So as he rattles the first few names off, I say, "Wait, I haven't seen this yet."
He says, "Yeah, the press release will be coming out later today."
So I hung up immediately as if I had lost my cell signal before he could tell me to hold off on blogging it.
So again, ZD gets the info, NOT because it was leaked in a press release early, or not because I was intended to have it early, but just because when you are out on the street 24/7 and on the phone you are going to bump into it. Which is exactly what happened.
If I didn't decide to just take out my phone to mention something to Nuch, which could have EASILY gone to voicemail, I wouldn't have known until I read it in the newspaper.
BUT, it DOES seem like ZD has a knack for bumping into stuff like Governor Schwarzengger. SO MUCH of THE best stuff I just hear in line at Starbucks, or sitting at the tables at the food plaza.
But again...you gotta pay the dues, to sing the blues like Steve Perry.
10:25pm, I just saw your comment, which I basically addressed in the above comment. So again, this stuff isn't orchestrated. If I didn't call Nuch, I wouldn't have had the exclusive. But regarding the union stuff and political tenure problems, that came out of ANOTHER, SEPARATE conversation I had with a second party after discussing the Nuch appointments. (They were telling me the problem he was/would be having. I heard that from the other side, LOL!)
But anyway, I believe you when you say you hope I am not being bamboozled, but don't trip person who took me to Phillipes that one time and who I said good things about Trader Joes, too. (No, not YOU person from today.)
No, I say Nuch hires ZD to blog/spin/stay "in the know" for him. I know what I'm talking about. This city needs to feel connected with their elected officials and Zuma knows how to get that done.

The city attorney has the power to hire just of few people of his choice, the other 895 will be there whether he likes it or not. he can't even hire his own personal secretary. 12:10PM Nuch is a good person and as for the civil service thing, he had 10 years of that at the DA's Office. It hasn't changed in the 21 years since he left, and Curt Livesay has recent experience there, so I reckon Nuch has a good handle on things.

It would be high level if, for example, Trutanich was speaking with a peer of his. Zuma dogg is not a peer of Trutanich's. Another elected official would be, for example.
The City Attty staff are exempt status, not civil service, which means they can be hired and fired at will,as stated in either the Charter or Admin Code. When Rocky became City Atty, he took Riordan's former staff that he worked with as Deputy Myr. And Hahn took most of his staff from the C.A. Office to Mayor's Office when he was elected - switch off to keep the same cronies employed.

Carmen didn't care that I blogged that. Again, it was just a coincidence on the timing. And YEAH, ZD DOES know how it feels to be "snooped" on, it's funny. But the REAL insiders, ESPECIALLY YOU, know ZD knows how to keep things confidential.
But overall, I should also let people know, Nuch is still the down to earth ""good guy" he appeared to be before the election. After all, he was talking to ZD and the guy is a very good listener, I have noticed.
