Mayor Villaraigosa not to run for Governor, or is Villar in ??
Consider this today from the San Fransisco Chronicles political scribes Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross in today's Chronicle, or is it "Wrongicles" ??No go Antonio: Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa isn't going to run for governor - at least not in 2010.
Our sources in L.A. say Villaraigosa has come to the conclusion that the time is just not right for him to make a state run - given that he hasn't even been sworn in yet to a second term, and that he's facing bloody political fights at home.
With Villaraigosa out, it's going to be an all-out brawl between San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and California Attorney General Jerry Brown for the Democratic nomination.
Then someone from "Team Villar" gave this response to the Los Angeles Times City Hall beat writer Phil Willon.
Is Villaraigosa in or out?
People close to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa this morning dismissed a report in the San Francisco Chronicle that he had decided not to run for governor in 2010.
Villaraigosa insiders said the mayor has still not made a decision.
Chronicle political columnists Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross today reported that their sources had told them Villaraigosa had decided not to run, in part because he was facing “bloody political fights” at home.
.....and those political fights will commence soon.

I think Mayor Villaraigosa will never be elected as governor of this Golden State, period.

I remember a fund raiser I went to when Antonio ran for Mayor. He got a question about his promise to fill out his term as Councilman for District 14. Very earnestly he told all in the room: I was committed to that. I was. But people from all over the City have come to me and asked me to run again because of the concerns of "pay-to-play" corruption at City Hall. So, I it looks like a should run for Mayor to end this very disturbing corruption under the helm of James Hahn."
How ironic that Antonio claimed to be running out of concern for corruption. We now know that was a big lie. Political operatives chattered up the pay to play allegations against Hahn and Villaragosa grabbed the Mayor's mansion.
Today, it appears that not only was that another broken Villaraigosa promise, but pay to play has corrupted the investment of millions in the City pension funds.
Villaraigosa = FAILURE.

Antonio would be the biggest fool in the country if he decided to run for Gov. It would show his arrogance, his stupidity, and his total lack of responsibility and accountability for the mess he's made in LA. Word from insiders are saying Antonio is going to spend hundreds of thousands of your tax dollars on his big gala swearing in ceremony. There should be RECALL posters all over that event with a huge photograph of the cover of LA Magazine that says FAILURE so the media can include in their stories.
Just keep in mind the SF Chronicle source sounds like it was Ron Kaye. That is fine. He may be correct. But doesn't appear that the SF source is independent of what we have already been hearing here locally.

People fail to understand one crucial aspect of the Governors race.
We here in Los Angeles have a reason to despise Mayor Villaraigosa -- because he sucks.
However, people in other cities have no grudge against him because he hasn't screwed up THEIR cities.... (yet)
Villaraigosa is still a danger to be Governor.
There is a lot of time between now and Nov. 2010.
