Obama-bin-Biden Lose Earmarks Issue
For some time the Democrats have tried to slam Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin for the "Bridge to Nowhere" and more recently, the "Road to Nowhere" but yet again Palin Derangement Syndrome backfires on the Obama campaign.Though as a candidate for Governor, Palin supported the town of Ketchikan, Alaska's desire to build a bridge between itself and it's island based airport, upon entering office she reversed her position on the bridge. Despite that, construction contracts for the road to the bridge had already been signed (during the previous administration) and Palin was forced to allow construction n the road to continue.
However when the Senate voted on the Bridge, both Barack Obama and Joe Biden voted for the Bridge even when efforts were made to diver the funds from Alaska to Louisiana to replace a bridge damaged during Hurricane Katrina.
At the same time, while Biden has criticized Palin, according to report by CNN's Drew Griffin, this year alone Biden has requested $342 in earmarks including his own bridge to nowhere in Delaware, parks, museums and the kind of stuff Sarah Palin has been criticized for building. In 36 years Biden has never released his earmarks list but under pressure from Republicans his office has finally done so.

Before you dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the
Alaska National Guard, consider this:
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor
defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska
National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from
ballistic missile attacks. It's on permanent active duty, unlike
other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified
military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her
exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and
certainly by far exceeds Obama's.
She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense
Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into
Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to
the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia ,
she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in
February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to
keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she
already is. . . . her experience in keeping the homeland safe fits perfectly with her image as the competent American woman.
Compare her Experience and Resume with the Messiah Obama's???
Governor Palin, Commander in Chief Already, wins hands down.
Oh yeah, she's got clearances we don't even know about. Never had a passport until recently, has no idea what the Bush doctrine is, her only federal experience is lobbying for money for bullcrap projects in Alaska - she's our best security hope yikes!
Okay former hillary supporter, let me go do some fact-checking first.
Oh stop! As has been thoroughly discussed, it's a small thing to be briefed on a situation, but it's entirely something else to have to make important decisions regarding the use of the military. Of course, she has no experience doing that.
Also, as has been thoroughly documented and mentioned on this blog, Palin only opposed the Bridge to Nowhere AFTER the feds said they wouldn't fund it. Something that Palin hasn't disputed.
Palin hasn't found herself being criticized for requesting earmarks. Lots of people do that.
The criticism was over the fact that she was being portrayed as someone who, like McCain, didn't play that game, yet she did.
It set off everyone's BS meter.
Palin canceled the earmarks she could most of them were leftovers from the previous administration and contracted out. If MSNBC is reporting this you can't say it's Republican spin!
Palin supported redirecting the $223 million Bridge to Nowhwere earmark to Hurricane Katrina relief, a much more noble cause at the time. In a typical example of leftist media bias, no one has made a big deal out of the bridge follow-up: Obama and Biden voted to force the $223 million in pork on Alaska, anyway.
By the way, that's one of the few votes Obama has cast, yes or no, in his brief U.S. Senate term. On the other hand, Obama has voted "present" 130 times.

Both Biden and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama voted to kill a Senate amendment that would have diverted federal funding for the bridge to repair a Louisiana span badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina, Senate records show.
And both voted for the final transportation bill that included the $223 million earmark for the Alaska project.
An amendment offered by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, would have stripped the money appropriated to connect the Alaskan coastal city of Ketchikan to its airport on sparsely populated Gravina Island and diverted the money to Louisiana.
But Biden and Obama and 80 of their colleagues rejected the measure, an amendment to a massive 2005 transportation bill that funded thousands of projects across the country.
Worrying many Americans that have, or have had government security clearances is the fact that Obama has never had a security clearance and vetted by the FBI. Predicated upon Obama’s associations with Ayers-Dorhn, Tony Rezko and Nadhmi Auchi, it is plausible that he could not be granted a top-secret clearance. In the event Obama could not be cleared, it would appear that Biden would be responsible for the ‘football” containing America’s very secret nuclear weapons unlocking keys.

The law does not allow a governor to redirect federal funds to other projects, and certainly not to projects out of state. If governors could do that, then earmarking the money wouldn't mean anything.
12:06 yes, but this was prior to the actual approval of the earmark by Congress. Palin urged Congress to allocate the money to Louisiana instead of Alaska. Obama, Biden and the rest of Senate (not McCain though) voted to send the money to Alaska (because they had already made a deal with Stevens to get their own pork).

If Obama would consent to having a security clearance it would show whether or not he is a U.S, citizen and if he is not a U.S. citizen then he cannot become President. If he will not consent to a security clearance then it is obvious that he does not want people to know something. I have had security clearances that covered my entire life so I know how thorough they can be.
