Mayor Sam's Christmas Eve Open Thread
The old, dead Republican Mayor will spend most of the afternoon and evening this Christmas Eve helping the Jaycees answer low income kids' letters to Santa and deliver toys directly to their homes. Information if you want to help, click here.
All the photos and stories from our first ever Reader Holiday Party can be found here.
And the reason for the season - as explained by that great philosopher, Linus vanPelt.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas holiday. And for you those of who choose not to celebrate Christmas, hope you have a great day off!

Just heard Wayne Reznick say the reason the murder rate is down is because like regular people who are leaving LA for other places so are gangbangers.

And the problem with that is...?

If this si an open thread, I am proposing a boycott of all ZD posts. Do not read the post, the commentsd or comment yourself on his dreck.
Maybe the lack of traffic will get Sam's (Higby's) attention.

8:01 and 8:44 are sad sick folks. Its the holidays people. Why so negative?
To answer your question 8:01 its a factor. Who said it was a problem?
I will pray for both of you.

Don't pray for us, help us.
Let's give the unemployed piece of detrius a permanent vacation from this blog as a Christmas present to all of us who only desire intelligent verbal reparte, sans the Hoo-de-Hoo and other embellkishments, such as all caps (shouting in blogland) and other artifical means of attracting attention.
Thanks for your prayers and your help in stamping out this menace to sanity.

We all feel sorry for the one man band out to remove Zuma Dogg. There must be something else you can do?

The anti-Zuma Dogg guy continues to read the blog despite the presence of Zuma. He appears too that he will not be giving up reading the blog whether Zuma posts or not.
Therefore he believes that by Mayor Sam canning Zuma, he is hurting Zuma. He has something personal against Zuma or has some emotional issue with Zuma that he wants to see Zuma fail, i.e. be removed from the blog.
That should narrow down the field a bit.

That same guy keeps dropping my name everywhere. "Noone cares..." "Noone was there..." "Noone gives a shit.." "Noone reads this blog..."
How the f!ck does he know what I do?
So just for the record...
I, Mr. Noone, wish everyone here (including Mr.Dickslexia) a wonderful holiday season and a joyous transition to whatever's next!

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the blog
Only one guy was stirring,
That’s right; Zuma Dogg…
The posters were nestled,
All snug in their beds,
With visions of Valley Doll’s
Ass in their heads.
Kim T. wore a nightie,
Young-Gi, just a cap.
For me on this Christmas
There would be no nap.
When out near the hedge
There arose such a noise
It sounded like Red Spot
Had just waxed his boys!
And what to my wondering eyes should appear
But good Mayor Sam
Pulled by angry reindeer!
“On liberals, on dum-dums, on taxes and laws,
On Clowncils, and Nanny States pushing their cause!
On Larry Levine and his sly backroom deals,
On Councilwoman Perry trying to kill Happy Meals!
On ol’ Bitter Bernie, what’s he got against cops?
On gangs and graffiti, it’s all gotta stop!”
Sam fell through my roof
Hit the floor with a cry
“It will only work out,
If the market decides!”
But Santa was there
(He and I go way back)
He saw Mayor Sam
And he gave him a smack.
“The market you speak of
Serves only one master.
It cheats and pollutes
And it creates disaster
For families and people
Who yearn to be free.
I’m wiser than you, Sam,
You listen to me.”
“Now government folk
Are an unruly lot.
They’ll cheat you and tax you
For all that you’ve got.”
“But somehow we have to make sure there’s a plan
To help out the child while building the man.”
“So you do your job,
Keep the government true
And liberals like me, well,
I’ll do what I do.
And the Market,
The Market will work out just fine
‘Cause corporate folks
Have just one bottom line.”
“But we must help the poor
And we must still remember
The child that was born
Long ago in December.”
With a wink of an eye
And a tweak of Sam’s nose
Once we said our goodbyes
Up the chimney he rose.
And up in the smog, over L.A. he coughed,
“Merry Christmas to all!
And God Bless You, Jack Hoff!”
