Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday

Poor Fabian Nunez! Antonio's favorite Fellow Mirthala Banger is in a heap of trouble. The heat won't let up on his high flying lifestyle as reports of the State Assembly Speaker's extravagant spending of contributor junket money continue to trickle out. As seen in this post from Zuma Dogg, when confronted by the media, FMB Fabian had to duck out with a thug looking bodyguard (who wouldn't confirm if he was a state employee or not) manhandling reporters. One blogger though has the top ten excuses FMB Fabian gave for his binge spending.

The City Council is settling a lawsuit against its law that banned homeless people from sleeping on the street in skid row. The settlement cuts back the number of hours the City can enforce the ban but not until Skid Row meets a ridiculous and unlikely to meet requirement of providing more housing for the homeless downtown. No word on if "homeless advocates" and the ACLU plan to seek to overturn bans on urinating on the street.

More if you click read more!

NBC Universal is planning to move its historic operations in "Beautiful Downtown Burbank" to the current parking lot of the Metro Red Line station in Universal City, across the street from Universal Studios. The longtime home to The Tonight Show and other legendary NBC programs has been in Burbank for over 50 years. One wonders is there more behind this than consolidating television studios? I guess since Mirthala left the Burbank newsroom nothing is the same. In the meantime, a college intern tells tales of life in the KNBC newsroom during "Mirthala-Gate."

Speaking of Mirthala, The Downtown News' Jon Regardie connects the dots between LA's most famous "other woman," fired Transportation Director Gloria Jeff and dog food settlement millionaire Tennie Pierce - one way or another Tony Villar was involved in them losing their jobs.

We thought we had shady trees here in LA? According to CurbedLA, Mayor Villaraigosa isn't the only municipal tree hoodwinker, its happening in Santa Monica. In this case Santa Monica wants to chop down ficus street trees and replace them with gingkos. In order to demonstrate how this would look, Santa Monica did a little Photoshop magic and created images with the new trees. The only problem is that the images have the OLD shadows from the ficus trees which create a whole lot more shade than the shady gingkos.

The LA Times reports that the legendary Felix Chevrolet won't be designated a historic landmark. Which is good because that's not what the owners wanted. However fans of their famous sign rest assured, Tom LeBong says the sign is going nowhere, even if the showroom is turned to condos.

Pomona and Santa Ana want to censor bloggers that blog against them and apparently phone companies and other internet providers want to do the same thing. The LA Times reports that AT&T and Verizon have clauses in their user agreements that could allow the company to cut off your internet access if you post mean things about them. Good thing I have cable.

That so=called reporter was "pulling an Unger," or haven't you heard that term yet?

Which is when Hispanic/ Latina reporters (Miriam Hernandez in this case, Ana Garcia for Ch. 4) chase down a male Hispanic (Villar/ Nunez, or if they run out, Rocktard and any other pols), try to dart into a place they know is off-limits, then make it seem that the "bodyguard" is hurting them.

Sounds a lot like the May first melee, no?

None of this has anything to do with whether or not Fabian is a big fat, or in his case, little scrawny, hypocrite -- just with the fact that "running" from this slime has nothing to do with the issue.

OR, do you want Miriam Hernandez and Ana Garcia to file suit against the city, too, like Unger? Keep playing for martyrs if you do.

How much longer are you going to keep slamming the Mayor and his girl friend?

Do you know many women who have only slept with one man, or even just two or three?

How about the perils of sleeping with a virgin at thirty something; want to go through that again?

Get over it, Sam, he's a real Mayor, you're not.

And neither is your buddy Hertzberg.

Wow. What are you smoking. As to the bums, I wish someone would cart out a number to the mayor's, the city atty, and each supervisor's private residences and tell them to flop on their sidewalks for the night. See how long that lasts with their families and neighbors complaining.

Ah its been a while since we've had a Hertzberg mention. The guy's been out of office for years and for whatever reason the VILLARISTAS can't let him go.

Indeed, I have known many women who have only slept with one or two or three men. Does the Mayor?

Are you saying that Mirthala only slept with Tony V, Fabian and Alex? No one else? Wow!

And we will keep slamming them when they stop f'ing us.

In this case it would be suing the state, but yea, as long as unaccountable politicians use thug types to harrass and intimidate the press and keep them from getting their story, sure why not? And sue the thug and the politician personally too.

What does it matter by the way that the reporter was a Latina?

Who is the 2:00 AM blogger? I guess Fabian's supporters are having trouble sleeping.

Fabian, Antonio, Padilla - these guys have never earned a living off their own wits. They have never managed a payroll or ran a business. So spending other people's money is the only experience they have. They got this from the Miguel Contreras School of Business.

Reporters, look into Fabian's criminal past. Just like Antonio's past, they speak volumes of what these bozos will do in office.

Fabian was convicted of assualt with intent to cause great bodily harm - he had a shotgun with him. He got arrested for beating on his wife. And everyone in the know knows that Fabian was a "coyote" - smuggling people in from Mexico for a very high fee - he used to brag about this.

Then Miguel Contreras took him in - taught him how to hide all his shadiness - including discreet whore house visits - and now he sits atop the legislature.

Of all the members of the Assembly, Fabian received the least amount of votes to get elected, but the most amount of Labor money.

The first thing the "New Rich" are taught to do; hide the shadiness and find the hookers. If he rises high enough she can qualify for a 'mistress" which is still a high paid hooker. If he goes to her house with wine and cheese; neither of them are 'new rich" enough. They gave to attain wealth until they get like the Kennedys. The Clintons havent made it yet either; they are VERY "NEW RICH" and still dont know how to behave. Hillary has a mouth like a stevador...but knows how to follow the money and "overlook clerical errors"

This "beauty" of reasoning from "SPEEDY NUNEZ", or should we call him "HIS SPEEDYNESS" ?

He "became a hit around the world" after his global warming bill passed last year, the speaker said, and received many foreign invitations. "The dollar is pretty darn weak in Europe these days" and that runs up expenses, he added. He also buys lots of gifts for dignitaries, staffers and other legislators

as stated to "OBSERVED FABIAN MODERATOR", George Skelton.

Only in Los Angeles can someone celebrate the settlement to allow the homeless to die peacefully on our sidewalks between the hours of 9PM and 6AM.

After spending almost one billion taxpayer dollars on Homelessness in the past ten years, this should not even be a topic for discussion. But there is more to the issue than decaying human flesh being kept ten feet from a door way.

The tragedy is the folks involved in the solution. Only in Los Angeles can we have the following scenario. The ACLU sued the City of Los Angeles. The City/County Homeless Commission who spent the 1 billion has the ACLU Executive Director and other ACLU folks on the Commission. The proposed settlement is going to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for confirmation and is where the husband of the ACLU Executive Director sits!

Part of the agreement should be to FIRE the current commission members. But this is Los Angeles and as we have just seen with the LAPD ( MacArthur Park) you never hold the man or women in the top role of authority accountable.

As we speak, an extended sleep over is being organized to move the homeless from 7th and San Julian to Beverly B. in front of the ACLU Headquarters.

More to come at a press conference now being set.

FMB Fabian - what a total jerk.

His assemlby district is among the lowest voting, lowest educated district in the state. This is the district that voted in Louis Caldera who authored the bill that took drivers licenses away from undocumented immigrants and this is the district that voted in Gilbert Cedillo who continues to fight to win that privilege back. Fabian was elected with the lowest vote total in the state, yet he has the top position in the Assembly.

Labor pumps in about a million dollars and they get to choose their candidate. Take a look at Fabian's district, the East L.A. interchange sits right in themiddle of the district - just take a look at the graffiti on all those state highways. Fabian's too busy drinking wine in France to serve his district.

If you have traveled you should know that many countries have a "pissoire' which is a mens urinal on numerous streets on the main streets. They have been there for hundreds of years and are still used.

It would be an improvement over Skid Row, unfortunately the "Pissoires" are cleaned by running water and we dont have enough in Skid Row.

Let me preface this by saying I am not employed by any government entity; not a lobbyist nor friend of Fabian or anyone who works for him. I'm in the private sector. The California economy is the 5th largest in the world. Calfiornia is a small - or not so small - nation. The Speaker of the California Assembly is not making decisions on the same level as the Speaker of the Iowa Assembly/House. What California does reverberates throughout the world. So do his expenses look high to the average Joe? To some. But they are not extravagant for the position, nor, most importantly, paid for with tax money.

Do you actually think that if Fabian was in private industry who would be spending this lavishly. With his educational background and experience he would be lucky to be a sales clerk at Wal-Mart.

Fooling the voting populace isn't a ticket for carte blanche.

Oh 8:59, you can't argue with these people. I love all the people here who gossip and post news-breaking stories. It makes it fun to come here.

But there are a few things that keep me away.

1. The incessant ranting about Zuma Dogg and especially when it's all personal and not the hard work he does. It is continual and nonstop and obviously only done by 1-3 people. Yawn..

2. The phrase, "Midget Mayor". It couldn't be more boring or less funny.

3. Nonstop illegal immigrant bashing. We have so many things wrong with our city. Why must we have the same racists type the same phrases over and over? Do they think we are dense and eventually will go think they are right and we'll all start calling them aliens?

4. People who have rants against certain people. That is fine, but only if the original story is about said person. When you go off topic and start going off on some other person that has nothing to do with the Thread Topic, it gets boring with a capital fucking B. Some of you don't seem to get that. If you really want to bitch about Ulisses Sanchez or someone equally boring to the rest of us who equal 90% of you, email Mayor Sam and request he do a thread so that those of us who could not care less can just delete those without wasting our time.

That's it really. Can't anything be done about any of them? Do they realize they make me like the Mayor more?? They are not winning points here and considering the fact that many 3rd and 4th floor employees DO read this blog, they are probably annoyed beyond belief. If there weren't so much personal hatred, a lot more work would get done.
