Daily News: No on Measure R

The editorial is too good to summarize. Just read it. Okay, maybe I'll summarize a tad. It hits all the points: corrupt officials raising millions from special interests; the combining of two measures; Judge O'Brien's ruling; the Court of Appeals cop-out; and the attempt to dupe voters.

I love the Daily News because they are not afraid to print the facts. The LA SLimes should take some lessons from them on reporting. Now what are the idiots who have been attacking the NC's have to say about this opinion?

PERPETUAL FRAUD
Vote against the City Council's term-limits deceit
MEASURE R - members of the Los Angeles City Council's deceitful ploy to give themselves four more years on the public dole - will go before voters Nov. 7, even though it's likely to be ruled unconstitutional...For this you can thank the 2nd District Court of Appeal, the City Council and yourself - because it's your tax dollars that keep this cynical scheme alive....Since its inception, it's been obvious that Measure R violates the California Constitution's requirement that ballot measures be limited to a single issue.

Memo from the desk of "THE LA ANTONIA TIMES"

Dear Walter,
I find it sad that you would rely on the "GREEN SHEET" as your paper of record, on City Hall politics. After all, we are the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET". I was also dismay with your blistering critique of our Page One article on the economic contributions of our fine immigrant community. Walter, we are bless in this city to have the leadership of "HIS POLLONESS", Polloraigosa. Do you want us to alienant future subscribers of the Spanish version of the "LA ANTONIA TIMES"? (WALTER, we do not use illegal or alien, in describing our immigrant community). Walter, in regards to Prop H and R, on the surface, we are against the Special Interest that want to control City Hall. Honestly?, we are a Special Interest. It swells ones ego to be invited to the parties, dinners, and every once in a while, reap the financial rewards of our glowing coverage on people or issues. Walter, I have a meeting with my boss, errr, billionaire buyer.

Fondly,
Editor Baquet

P.S. Walter, nice to have high and mighty friends
