Mayor Sam's Endorsements for the Primary
These are ballot recommendations from the old, dead Republican Mayor himself. They do not represent the views necessarily of the other writers on this blog, but they are the official Sister City endorsements. Before any of you dum dums froth at your pathetic mouths, I don't endorse for every position and in some cases I don't endorse even if a race is contested if I feel all the candidates are losers.

Clark Baker for the R nomination for the 42nd AD? There is a difference between being a "retired" police officer and a "fired" police officer. The disgraced shouldn't run for pubic office.

Don't endorse Losers? Then Please, Pretty please expain the Keith Richman endorsement. One Bill Keith, the Bumbling Doctor from the North. That arrogant punk, lying fricking worm. Dont Endorse Losers? HMMFFFF

Did the LA Times endorse in the 20th Senate race?

State Controller - people should vote for John Chiang. As Chair of the State Board of Equalization, he's made government more accessible to people who have questions and concerns about their state tax payments. He's helped small businesses survive and thrive by helping business owners understand the tax laws and what they owe. John Chiang has the best experience to serve our state as State Controller.
(for once, something positive on Mayor Sam!)

Jerry Brown! you must be out of it totally. Brown is the guy who destroyed this state 20 years ago. He let it crumble into the shit pile it is today -- why would any one in their right mind want him for dog catcher. What a joke! Go Rocky! you can do it!!!

Fearless predictions...
Westly will beat Angelides by a nose.
Garamendi in a tight one over Speier.
Dunn will beat the underfunded Chiang.
Rocktard will lose by over 20 points.
Ortiz and Bowen a toss-up.
A-Pad beats Cindy, barely.
Feuer beats Land, barely.
De Leon beats Chavez and Popp.
and in San Diego, Bilbray beats Busby by a hair.

DOES THIS MEAN MARCOS AGUILAR LIVES IN THE CITY HE TEACHES?
I HEARD HE LIVES OUTSIDE THE CITY!
TCLA: Have the educators you have observed here in Los Angeles acted in a more culturally responsive way?
MA: Sure, some teachers do, the majority don’t. The majority of teachers consider their position a 9-5 job which they execute as quickly as possible, and for which they expect a high level of compensation. We basically have a situation where outsiders are teaching a community’s children, with no regard to the community itself, with no regard for the ultimate outcome of their actions with the children, with no regard for anything past that one year that they are with them. Teachers step into this role fully expecting a three-month vacation or expecting tons of extra pay when they are off. They fully expect to be separate from the students so they want to commute to get to the inner city.

La Opinion is the sister publicatio nof the Times? What about Hoy - that is the Spanish publication of the Tribune Company. They kicked La Opinion and Monica Lozano to the curb years ago.
Most recent polls show Alex up by 20.

2:01 My bad. I thought that Tribune stilled owned half of La Opinion.

What's sad is that the Mayor does not even have a clue about the black portions of the City, and who's running there. 48th AD, 51st AD? And what about Burbank v. Glendale in the 43rd AD?

ANONYMOUS is as accurate about Clark Baker's record as he was courageous to post his real identity.
I, Clark Baker, risked MY career to blow the whistle on LA City corruption. While it's true that I endured retaliation (http://exlibhollywood.blogspot.com/2005/05/whats-in-name.html) in 1991, I retired honorably in 2000 after the judge, prosecutor, and LAPD were found guilty of judicial and prosecutorial misconduct.
Sion's suspended law license IS STILL on his record (http://members.calbar.ca.gov/search/member_detail.aspx?x=146334), I don't scribble anonymous notes about my opposition, and I'm the ONLY candidate who has written extensively on relevant issues.
Steve uses HIS BROTHER'S experience as a Marine and a cop as a reason to vote for him, while I SERVED as a Marine Corps sergeant and an LA cop - and honorably left both careers.
I'm also easier to find than Sion's anonymous supporter - and that says a lot about him and his campaign...

Dear Anonymous (Steve),
I'm prouder of my 30 years defending your First Amendment rights than you are of your own name.
By the way Anonymous, when do you plan to grow a pair?

2:00pm You know little of a teacher's daily schedule and salary contract. Teacher's usual contract hours are 7:30am-3:30pm with a 30 min. lunch and one 10-15 min. break. This does not take into consideration additional time for lesson planning, because a 55 min "prep period" is usually not enough to plan, correct, make calls to parents etc. Teacher's Contracts are for 10 months (185 days), therefore, they ONLY receive 10 paychecks. If you hear of teachers still getting a paycheck while NOT working the summer it is because they asked the district to DIVIDE THEIR yearly salary into 12 months. AND teachers that work summer school get ADDITIONAL pay for their work. Teachers get the same major holidays as government with a few extra days but it just means the school year is longer...Stop with the general statements!!!! or are you still holding a grudge because a teacher gave you a "D" in English?

Why did you not endorse judges? A terrific superior court judge lost because she has a foreign sounding name. This is so wrong. We need a better way to select our judges. Instead of Judge Janavs who is a very bright woman who has been on the bench for 20 years, we got someone who runs a bagel store!
