Want to Date a City Council Member?
Some time ago, the blogosphere was abuzz with the word that Assemblyman Lloyd Levine was looking to appear on the ABC television show, The Bachelor.While Levine never got to look for love in all the wrong places, there's another politician who is tired of being single.
Last Tuesday, which was Valentine's Day, Alex Padilla gavels open the meeting of the City Council's Education Committee with a reminder of the holiday being observed.
This led to fellow committee member, Council Member Janice Hahn (who apparently no longer has parking issues) to point that she is not in a relationship, single and tired of all the Valentine's Day hoo-haw.
The Palms-Village Sun has the blow by blow. Write George Garrigues was tempted to ask Janice for a date, but decided since she lives in the Harbor, she's a little geographically undesirable.

Jan Hahn is a grandmother but still looks OK. She probably has a few miles on her but the job perks are a plus. But if you get involved you have to put up with her boring brother. He better be careful if he moves too slow someone might draw a chalk line around him. How many "inputs" does JH give up?

Knowing both of them personally, you are way off base when you call Jim Hahn boring. He has a great sense of humor and is fun to be around. I realize you all thought he was a stiff politician, and he's no Antonio (thank god) but he is definitely fun.
Janice could find a man if she looked hard enough. She's a hoot!
freethinker: I'm a "LA denizen" who studied and lived in the bay area at Berkeley for 6 years. Hated it. The bay is boring. Sorry. I have many bay area friends who moved here to LA and swear never to move back. Unless you can show me how it is better like the public trans system (BART). Other than that, it is boring.

Janice Hahn is a quality person who exhibits all the right stuff. She constantly strives to do the right thing. This is exceptional for anyone, let alone a politican. For those who dare to bash her, you need to take a critical look at yourself.
