Fugitive Captured - Reggie Runs Free
Adding a little lite humor to the day, we couldn't help but post about the plight of our beloved mascot Reggie who is holding strong and making a fool out of just about everyone.The latest development includes the arrest of Thomas "T-Bone" Quinn for parole violations back in Louisiana.
Just a few thoughts. Recs and Parks supposedly did a background check on this fugitive who was out here for weeks. Janice Hahn even invited him to help capture Reggie, driving away actual licensed gator hunters.
With these kind of background checks, it makes you wonder if the kids who attend R&P camps and programs are actually safe. Who else have we missed?

Janice Hahn was the one who fawned over T-Bone and foisted him on R & P. I bet the Gatorland folks are having a good laugh.
Alligators are not an endangered species.
Alligators are dangerous; they eat pets, kids and, given the chance, adults.
Alligators don't belong in urban areas.

People, it's an ALLIGATOR!
The city has spent months and thousands of dollars trying to wrestle him into submission. It's not working.
But maybe you'll feel better after he eats a poodle or something. If not, what will it take? A kid getting eaten? Two kids?
I grew up in Florida. Alligators are dangerous. They belong in swamps, not city parks.
It's that kinda' logic that's getting thousands of dogs euthanized in this city.
"It's a doberman, a rottweiler, a pit bull . . . it's gonna' rip some kid apart."
C'mon now, Walter. An alligator is a dumb animal doing what it needs to do to survive. It should be captured and relocated. Who made you God in deciding which animals are "worthy" of our pardon from assasination?

Yeah, you're right. An alligator is just like a dog or cat. As we all know, alligators have been domesticated since ancient times, and make great pets. Criminey. All animals are not created equal. If you have a choice of being locked in a room with a dog or an alligator, by all means, choose the alligator.

I don't recall ever promising to protect the "right" of alligators to live freely in city parks. On the contrary, I recall saying animals don't have "rights" at all; rather, human beings have obligations not to treat them cruelly.
