In a Mayor Sam Exclusive: we have obtain detailed records of all City Council Mailing Costs from Fiscal Year 2013 to December, 2014, which shows CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar spending close to $128,000 for 326,000 mailers promoting himself.
Props to Re-elected CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar for spending $61,832.65 from July 1. 2014 thru December 31, 2014, to pay postage for 154,880 Mailers of Self-Promotion.
** Blogger's Note: In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we have received a response to a California Public Records Act Request, which details the mailing costs for each Council District from July 1, 2013 to December 31, 2014 ......., and the information CLEARLY shows that one, recently re-elected City Councilman, gave no second thoughts to having the taxpayers cover the cost of his pre-election Self-Promotion. CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar in the eighteen-month period, sent more than 326,000 pieces of mail to constituents, which was more the double the amount sent by the rest of the City Council combined. Just in the six month period from July 1, 2014, ending on December 31, 2014, the self-noting Princeton Graduate mailed 154,880 flyers to CD 14 households, costing the taxpayers $61,832.65. The total amount of mailers and their costs in those six months, was almost 500% plus more than the rest of the council combined. As a further comparison, the amount of Public Money spent by Councilman Huizar was 20% of the total Gloria Molina Campaign expenditures. Surely, some discerning observers will have some insightful commentary on this information---Scott Johnson.

CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar is the undisputed King of exploiting the taxpayers for pre-election self-promotion.
Your thoughts ..............

No surprise here. Please keep posting the truth about the no-holds barred money that Huizar spent to win this election. Can we add the LA taxpayer costs to the donations to get a final cost per vote that got him in? And don't forget the cost of the legal expenses that some journalists believe were a snooze issue - $500,000 in known costs, ??? in settlement costs (we still do not know who paid since public report suggests Huizar didn't pay his property taxes). Only 8% of the voters came out to vote and it only took 11000 votes to put him in, but cost well over $1.5 million dollars - and counting. You may need to adjust the total number of votes for a few staff members that needed to keep a job - just saying! I would like to see the final figure of cost per vote.
ReplyDeleteWe, all we registered voters, should find time to reflect on this. I know I will. It is sooo tempting to get cynical.

Where is all of the missing money from the city Councilman Huizar? Why is Huizar taking credit for all the work other people have done to Downtown LA?
ReplyDeleteI hope he does what he promised during his campaign.
That's what Mayor Sam has been asking all these years but no one seems to mind!
