Let Teachers' Carry
And in the Rocky Mountain State, they want to...
Monday evening in Colorado, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, Colorado's largest grassroots gun rights organization, provided a free firearms training course for Colorado teachers.
Monday evening in Colorado, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, Colorado's largest grassroots gun rights organization, provided a free firearms training course for Colorado teachers.
300 men and women braved snow and inclement weather to attend the four hour course focusing on firearms safety and handling, and Colorado gun laws.
"Colorado teachers have been beating down our doors to receive firearms training,” said Rocky Mountain Gun Owners Executive Director Dudley Brown. “They don't want their students to be a victim of the next Adam Lanza. They came here for training tonight because they want the next Adam Lanza to face the barrel of a .45."
Tonight's class coincided with the introduction of Colorado Senate Bill 9, the Colorado Teacher Carry Bill, which would give school boards the ability to allow teachers to carry a firearm as long as they have a Concealed Weapons Permit.

Higby, our teachers can't even TEACH. You want them to carry guns?
Go back to championing Paul Krekorian. Oh wait, now you regret that, don't yo?
See the commonality?

Perhaps we should get Hector 'Weasel' Maroquin out of prison to help arm the teachers? He was Villaraigosa's choice for getting kids out of gangs, until it turned out he used the $1.6M Villiaraigosa gave him to buy firearms for gang members. Seriously, though, Colorado is right to at least give teachers the ability and opportunity to defend themselves. Funny how LA, once the trend-setter in the USA, is now lagging behind. Colorado also legalized the sale of medical marijuana, d'ya think any of out lame-brained politicians would dare to be so bold as to take a practical position instead of kicking the can down the road?

Mike, haven't you endorsed enough looney ideas that turned out to be epic fails?
I remember when you supported the homeless rapper for mayor. He came in 5th place. Instead of directing those votes to a legitimate candidate, you could have helped us get somebody other than Villaraigosa. Then he posted regretable photos of you online. Did you think out the teachers with guns idea as much as you thought out that idea?
What about your support of Krekorian? Just another Higby Epic Fail Special. Way to go, dude.
You are more interested in passively aggressively goading fools into running for office than in doing the right thing for the city.

Higby, You're a complete idiot, If more guns were the answer, then the U.S., with its 300 million guns, should be safest country on the planet.

11:54, you're not very bright, but I know who you are.
Anyway - more guns does not mean more violence.
Sweden and Israel make it much easier for citizens to get guns and have easier concealed carry laws. Yet, they have lower rates of homicide despite ownership rates that match the US. The source for this info is Dr. Arthur Kellerman, a strong gun control supporter who acknowledges such.
In fact, while gun manufacturing and gun ownership is up, gun murder and crime is down, in the case of gun murders, at a 31 year low.
Gun suicides are up though, but one can wonder if someone wants to kill themselves, would they find another way if they did not have a gun. Non-fatal gun injuries are also up some, again, one wonders what the source of those are.
Here are numbers for you:
