Heroes Don't Brag
I can not take credit for this but it was something that was forwarded to me this morning. I don't normally post items that come in through e-mail, but given the recent flap over President Obama's remarks on the mission to exterminate Osama Bin-Laden, these comments are timely and poignant.
A couple of things to notice:
- 50 caliber sniper on the right.
- Knee, knuckle, and forearm protection.
- Various plastic/wire ties.
- Absolute identity denial to protect their families.
- Free choice of footwear.
- Fourth from the right has three artillery simulators and CS gas grenades on his belly. He's the 'shock and awe' guy.
Let's be clear on this: OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An American sailor, who Obama, just a few weeks ago, was debating on whether or not to PAY, did.
In fact, if you remember a little less than two years ago, his administration actually charged and attempted to court-martial 3 Navy Seals from Seal Team Six, when a terrorist suspect they captured, complained they had punched him during the take down and bloodied his nose.
His administration further commented how brutal they were. The left were calling them Nazi's and Baby Killers. Now all of a sudden, the very brave men they vilified are now heroes when they make his administration look good in the eyes of the public.
Obama just happened to be the one in office when the CIA finally found the b...... And our sailors took him out. Essentially, Obama only gave an answer. Yes or No, to him being taken out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!! Forward on IF YOU AGREE!!"

OBAMA'S OWN WORDS TRAP HIM:
2008: "Navy Seal Team 6 is Cheney's private assassination team."
2011: "I put together Seal Team 6 to take out Bin Laden."
2008: "Bin Laden is innocent until proven guilty, and must be captured alive and given a fair trial."
2011: "I authorized Seal Team 6 to kill Bin Laden."
2008: " Guantanamo is entirely unnecessary, and the detainees should not be interrogated."
2011: "Vital intelligence was obtained from Guantanamo detainees that led to our locating Bin Laden."
Labels: barack obama, navy seal team six, osama bin laden

Great post Michael.

1. President Obama never said "Bin Laden is innocent until proven guilty, and must be captured alive and given a fair trial."
2. If the mission didn't go well, you guys would be blamming the President for making the decision to send in the Navy the way he did.
3. Sec'y of Defense Robert Gates, who served under 5 different Presidents did say that President Obama showed more courage than any of the other four Presidents he worked under.
4. You never said anything when 10 years ago President Bush pracned on an aircraft carrier and gave a speech under the banner "Mission Acomplished." If that deserved a "Mission Accomplished" banner, what does the actual killing of Bin Laden deserve.
Most of the time, you guys are right on, but give credit where credit is due. We're all Americans. We all benefit equally by the killing of Bin Laden. No reason to parse credit.
Today's a great anniversary for all of us.

Let's be honest. If you don't like Obama, you don't want him to get credit for the fact that he was the Commander in Chief when bin Laden was killed.
If Ronald Reagan, Joe McCarthy, Sarah Palin, or someone else you admire had been president you'd rename the U.S. Navy after them.

No, I don't think so. Any of the people you mentioned would have street cred going in, as having supported the military.
Obama should get every bit of credit for it happening on his watch, even Romney has stated that.
However, his past statements conflict with his comments around the death of Osama and even some Democrats are squeamish about how he is taking credit and using this.

Sarah Palin has more street cred with the military than Obama? I don't think she ever made a decision regarding even the Alaska National Guard. Leading up to the killing of bin Laden Obama established himself as quite a militarist, with the build-up of troops in the Middle East, etc. Much to the disappointment of his liberal supporters.
Unlike Bush, Obama never donned a jet pilot's flight suit and stood on a aircraft carrier in front of a "Mission Accomplished" sign, when the only mission that was accomplished was getting the banner up.

TYPICAL RIGHT WING SPIN on a Blog! You can hear the same thing over and over on Rush's or on Glen Becks show. If this guy ( and I don't know ) is for real. Then he has every right to speak his mind. But..if this is just another attempt to BASH the president. Then it's value is ZERO. This is the same flip flop stuff you here from the TEA PARTY everytime.
Its more Miss-Information!!
