Did favorable score on Councilman's Huizar's "Constituent Discrimination Lists" get you Gold Card access via CD 14 Chief of Staff Ana Cubas?

There was a time when El Sereno Resident Michael Carreon's appearances at City Hall would cause consternation for CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar and his staff. But as KCET's "SoCal Focus Blog" reports a little "Gold Card love" via Councilman Huizar's Chief of Staff Ana Cubas, may have been the key moment in flipping Carreon from antagonist to supporter.

Carreon was a well known vocal critic of Councilman Huizar who would not miss a chance to highlight concerns during public comment time at City Hall. But in July of 2009, Carreon and Councilman Huizar "broke pan dulce together" at the El Sereno stop during the "Huevos with Huizzy Tour".

As one person noted "Huizy and Michael Carreon kissed at made up at the "Huevos" this morning. Does that mean no more angry tirades from MC about paper posters on telephone poles in El Sereno on CH. 35, or is this just a temporary truce.(Geeez, what a LOVE fest)".

Could have Cubas's "Gold Card Intervention" bought, whoops, help broker peace between Carreon and Councilman Huizar? From the looks of the picture above, the perks continue to flow for Carreon.

But one prominent El Sereno resident relayed a story about a neighbor who repeatedly contacted the council office to no avail, regarding parking tickets issues. After all in CD 14, Gold Card treatment is a privilege, not an equal right.
