LAUSD School Board President Monica Garcia's Chief of Staff Luis "the Educator" Sanchez seeks construction dollars for his campaign

Luis "the Educator" Sanchez seeking construction donors for his bid to become Monica Garcia's "Mini-Me" on the School Board.
TELACU, the Seville Group and others are ready to give to the Campaign of LAUSD School Board President Monica Garcia's Chief of Staff and former Inner City Struggle Leader Luis Sanchez.
It seems that the likes of Judy Johnson are using their past work with LAUSD, to become rainmakers for various construction firms, that would want future construction contracts with the district.
Construction donors will be important for Sanchez to counter the expected financial Mother Lode that former Roosevelt High School Teacher John Fernandez, will reap from UTLA.
Further interest here in the LAUSD District Five Race will be whether out-going Board of Education Member Yolie Flores-Aguilar, makes an endorsement in the race to succeed her.
Your thoughts..............

Isn't it delicious that UTLA is now in the position of having to support Louis Pugliese, a guy who supports getting rid of ineffective teachers within a school year? And he supports charter schools and the Mayor's Partnership schools as well. The joke is on UTLA!!! Source: Read this: http://www.dailynews.com/opinions/ci_15161619

ooops. Wrong reference. Here is the correct link: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-school-question-6pugliese3-2009mar03,0,3559839.story

In the Daily News piece, Pugliese actually argues that LAUSD should have been broken up:

"IN June, once again taxpayers will be asked to ante-up in a parcel tax for the financially and academically bankrupt LAUSD - the money-sucking bureaucratic nightmare that should have disintegrated long ago and gotten out of the business of running schools."

I just might be supporting a UTLA-backed candidate after all!

2 years ago in that interview Louis said, "I worry that the only charter operators in a few years will be the charter management organizations [that operate multiple schools], and the mom-and-pop or free-standing charter schools will fall by the wayside."

Given the board's action yesterday allowing the large charter corporations to partner with them in raising our taxes, and sharing the profits, Pugliese's looking more and more like Notradamus here-and possibly the only choice if the Union wants to survive.

Sounds like he wants to build things.Perhaps schools. Isn't that what construction is? It's no secret we have overcrowded schools.
