Looks like the Republicans have cornered the market on high profile ethnic wins with Nikki Haley in South Carolina and Marco Rubio in Florida.
The big news about the Rubio win is that in a three way race, he landed 51%, which is unheard of.
Rubio is anti-choice, which is the only reason I don't like him. But I suspect that with the exploding Latino population in the US, he will make a viable presidential canidate in 6 years.
9:27pm, Joe just needs something to cling to. Let him have it. "Noone" is calling the election yet, but Brown will ultimately win.

Yes, Florida now has the future star Marco Rubio as Senator.
Yes, South Carolina has Indian Nikki Haley.
But the R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C-A-N-S now have the nation's first female Latina Governor, in New Mexico.
When it comes to ethnic minorities, this was a landmark day for Republicans, odd as that may seem to some of you.
Joe, this WAS a bloodbath.
No party has won anywhere NEAR 60 seats in the House in a mid-term in more than 60 years.
It's purely childish to suggest otherwise.
Moreover, while the Dems kept the Senate, they only have a few point lead.

Joe-when a House Speaker loses his or her seat, it's a hugely rare occasion (i.e. a blood bath).
Tip O'Neill never lost his Speakership. His lasted Decades. Nancy's lasted six years.
It doesn't matter a lick how much any candidate won by. What matters is who won, and who controls both houses.

Jeez, Joe B. Reading your excuses is like watching a child lie. You've obviously never been gracious in defeat. The Dems lost the house by a huge number. Be gracious and admit what everyone else already knows. Obama was an experiment that failed miserably, since he had 100% control. Today was a commentary on the last two years. Even the Senate lead for the Democrats has whittled away.
Come Wednesday morning, it's obvious who has the momentum. It'll be interesting to see if Obama continues to be defiant.
What I really found funny is that Pelosi INSISTED that the Dems would maintain the House. Sad.

The most important thing, after losing the House of Reps, is that there are now VASTLY more Republican GOVERNORS in the U.S., and that means a major advantage for Congress to do the redistricting that will heavily impact the 2012 election.
