As a judge, a person who is supposed to be impartial, this woman is a poor representation and is prejudiced against non-minorities. Try to disparage that fact, wacko Liberals.

I believe I will withhold comment until she has a track record with the Supreme Court to use as a basis for an opinion.

why is this blog reporting things that we can find on absolutely every other blog on the planet?
can you maybe get back to focusing on local issues and putting your completely ill-informed perspective on it?
what's next? idiot phil genderjane comment on sotomayor's qualifications?

I believe she will add a much needed voice on the Court. She has a phenomenal judicial record and is what the Court needs.

"Phenomenal judicial record"? Read her opinions. Rather a mediocre mind advanced by "affirmative action", just like Bambi.

Sotomayor is terrible. She has been reversed a bunch of times. Not the right pick for freedom and Constitution fans.

Phil. Your comment almost makes me think you were expecting something that would be palatable to "freedom and constitution fans" (whatever the hell that means), from Barack Obama.
Did BHO campaign as a big fan of strict constructionism?
I guess I missed that.
(And when was the last time any national leader in this country actually stood up and said, honestly "you know, I'm not REALLY a big fan of the U.S. Constitution -- or that "freedom" thing either. I think maybe we can come up with something better if we can just get the right kind of Supremes in office.")

I know you guys just hate the quibbling over the English language here (it isn't REALLY the official national language anyway, right?). But, I'm just curious if it would have been possible for Sotomayor, as a woman, to be the first HISPANIC, and not be the first LATINA (or vice versa), considering there's never been either before? Or, are there maybe just a few extra words in that headline that logic would dictate aren't necessary?
Oh, and I'll save you the time to make a reply, and do it myself . . .

And the Repugs voting against Sotomayor for no other reason than She was nominated by President Obama and she was a Latina have just shot themselves in the other foot. Nice job

Why does Sotomayor always looks like she's having an allergic reaction to eating shellfish or something?
