Nuch invited Greuel to audit his department during his inauguration speech. In fact he welcomed it. Now if we can just get Controller Greuel to audit LADBS and City Planning!

9:54, Thanks. As much as I like Laura, I don't think these past audits even began to uncover the level of dysfunction in these departments. I am a community advocate, but I can assure you that developers and business are just as unhappy with the way LADBS/Planning operate. There needs to be an in-depth top to bottom analysis of why these departments cause more problems than they solve. Even Home Depot would agree with me on this one.

Joe, Laura did do the Audits and made many recommendations, however, she didn't have the power to require the departments to make those changes. That is still true today, the controller can expose, but only the public really has the power to enfore those changes no one else will force a follow up on recommendations. The Planning Dept. is an excellent example. Don't expect Wendy to do any better because she will have the same problem.
Antonio's security detail: $450,000 a year
An elected San Francisco supervisor has been agitating up there for details on the cost of Mayor Gavin Newsom's security detail, without much luck. Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, however, easily tracked down a number for the cost of assigning two LAPD officers fulltime to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa during the day and one at night. About $450,000 a year, he was told, per the Chronicle's Matier and Ross.

The audits should start first with all the city council offices. There is so much corruption within its daunting. Daily News reporting only 1,000 showed up yesterday and stupid LA Slimes posts 3,000 when in fact people who attended say only 500. Is it me or does Antonio's sister look just like him in drag? This is why Derek Fisher was selected to emcee.

I will admit I did not like Trutanich at first. But he's coming out strong and knows he will be held to his words. I'm beginning to really like his focus and he's been put on the record saying what he's going to do to clean out his dept. first. That's the sign of a leader, something this city is desperately lacking. Good for Nuch.
NUCH will be city atty for a couple of terms then will move on to either D.A. or mayor of L.A.

One place that should be audited but never has been is the City
Controllers office itself! Why not! what are they hidding...there is huge staff there, yet outside auditors were hired all the time on Laura's watch. It's about time for some self examination. Wendy are you listening? We really don't give a shit about you auditing the City Attorney or Council offices...that's just Laura's BS to get her name in the paper. I hope you are above that.
