And to the people who will say, "Blame the farmers who use 80% of the water and make them cut back instead of cities..."
GREAT, you are correct. And when THAT happens (that the agro industry should cut back and save water and they are the the biggest users) THEN, this won't be as big of an issue.
But ZD deals with current situations as they unfold in reality...not down the line ideology that is not where near the day to day reality.
So it is not that you would be wrong, conceptually, if you say we shouldn't be having this discussion...it's just that you will die of dehydration and turn to dust while you are waiting for that change to happen, Mr. Perfect World Ideology.
In other words, IT'S REAL because tommorow's perfection isn't here today, yet.

Watch Villaraigosa try to say he had something to do with getting this stimulus money. He's a complete failure and now his 10 schools he's allowed to also fail. when politicans care more about everything else except education there is a major problem with their thinking. Oh I forgot Villarigosa doesn't have a brain. Newsome has done more for San Franciso in areas of environment, education and healthcare then Villaraigosa could possibly imagine. At least he's accomplished. I can hardly wait for Ace Smith's dumb ass post now.
....Especially hard hit would be schools under the stewardship of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Seven of the 10 campuses, including Markham, could lose their first-year principals, more than three-fourths of assistant principals and more than 20% of teachers.
"It would be horrendous," Sullivan said. "I need every one of my staff members to return. These children need a continuum of people who care. Losing these teachers would permeate into the belief that no one cares about Watts."

Of course, he would have to be ABLE to run in order to run away. I've seen the man. He can barely walk, let alone run. Michael, what is the deal with your chunkiness? Stressed out from criticizing people like the good citizen Jim Alger and Jack Weiss who do far more for the community that you can ever would even imagine because some people get up and do things to help people during the day and you are nothing but a big, fat, slovenly complainer and criticizer the likes of which are extraordinary to make big fortunes and profits from the slackardliness of your slovenly blog and you should have more appreciation for people like phillip jennerjane, the humble correspondent of things rebuplican on the west side of the city's los angeles west side right near the santa Monica.

Few doubt that Higby was a bully when in grade school. He takes the same role now, not welcoming dissent, and attacking good people like you because you idelogically disagree with him.
Unfortunately, that groups you with those who also have absorbed his bullying abuse, like Jerk Weiss, Mayor Cheater and Joe Maleandder and Joe Barrett. Even though Barrett still posts here sometimes, he can't get a word in edge wise without bully fatso the blogger making sure everyone on the planet hear's him for the umpteenth repetitive time.
I hope you make a good living at whatever you do, because higby drools at your success like he drools the beef at Sizzler. No doubt that they know him very well at the self-serve counter, but not at the salad bar.

What water shortage?
Down near San Diego/Calexico in the Imperial Valley, they will be lining the All American Canal, thus preserving millions of acre feet of water for our farmers in the Valley and for the City of San Diego.
The only downside is that the water they are saving would ordinarily enter the aquifer that is used by the Mexican farmers on the other side of the Rio Grande. Those dudes are screwed, blued and tattooed. Their aquifer will now grow acidic due to all the toxins used in the Valley which will seep into it undilutd by the pure water that used to seep along with it.
Why doesn't ZD tell us about these issues? I'll tell you why, it is because he only knows what he can read in the day old LA Times he cadges from Starbucks.
So, here's a question for the cognoscenti : "From just exactly which, of Deming's Seven Deadly Diseases, does Saltsburg suffer?
Zuma Dogg said:
12:16pm, Doug, Kevin and Scott supporting Walter Moore for mayor doesn't mean they thought ZD was a fool. I think they just liked Walter as a mayoral candidate better.
I like Run-DMC AND Snoop Dogg. Just because if I had to pick ONE of them to play at my BBQ, doesn't mean I don't like the other one.
Now I've done some rabble-rousing on the blogs since the election, cause I have been disappointed with AM talk radio since the elections (presidential and mayoral). So now I'm quite certain they hate me, for SURE, in the way you thought they did BEFORE the mayoral race. BUT, I still try and provide them with what I believe to be the most important issues in the city with any info I have.
And the other day, after calling in to one of the shows, and talking to the screener...MAGICALLY AND COINCIDENTALLY, during the next newscast at the bottom of the hour, the news reporter refers to, and then plays the EXACT soundbite of the mayor that I just called to their attention (because they had not mentioned this yet), out of the mayor's entire speech.
And even though I am now scorned by all those people you just mentioned, I burst out into a HUGE smile and, "yeaaaaaaaaaah" when I heard the clip, whether it's because I brought it to their attention, or ZD just happens to have a knack for picking the exact sentence out of the entire speech...I was just THRILLED that quote was aired!!!
And those guys you mention; they have done nothing but paid me the highest praise and accolades on the air, publicly, over the years.
So now, all of the sudden, I'm completely 100% wrong on everything and nothing I say is worth mentioning and wipe ZD's name from the airwaves and history books by the AM talk show hosts.
But you cannot ignore my work, because it is always ahead of the curve and eventually you are going to be saying to the audience what I have already been saying, and what you USED to say, when I said it. And the longer they wait on these things, the more people go back and say, "Damn, ZD said that (blank) ago." And there is a real pattern and history developing that is easy to verify on the internet.
And Scott didn't say he thought ZD sucked; he said, "Although ZD does a lot of good, blah, blah, blah, Walter Moore has raised the money, blah, blah, blah. (But Spot is someone who never should have felt so compelled to blab that shit on the radio. Where was Walter Moore in his community at all those meetings over the past three years? So shame on you Mr. Johnson for your public, but even moreso, ANONYMOUS? comments here on this blog.
So although of course I can see why you felt the way you did, your nutty compulsion to blast it on the radio as "Michael" (you had to be deceitful to do it, but you didn't change your voice, doofus) kinda made me feel I should take my focus elsewhere and leave your CD 14 district to Walter Moore for the issues I have been spending time with. (Think about it? Think about EVERY time I said, "Huizar" on blogs, meetings, Las Villas, Planning meetings, all the calls from your pals...so I hope it felt good, because I feel good that CD 14 has grown up and ZD can focus his time and efforts elsewhere.
But Higby can tell you, he hasn't been enjoying the desperate pleas of you crybaby NIMBYS on your issues that no one gave a f*ck about, besides ZD.
AND I MEAN NO ONE CARES!!!
AND I MEAN I TOOK SHIT FROM EDITORS FOR EVEN MENTIONING ANYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH CD 14.

I don't know how Joe does it. Mike is incredibly rude to him and I know it really bothers Joe as we have discussed it. His disrespect to both our Mayor and our President is quite frankly an issue that should be investigated.
He continues to promote the ill natured Zuma Dogg who is a constant distraction to important issues that I have dedicated many years to.

THERE ARE CERTAINLY ANSWERS TO EVERY QUESTION OR CONCERN, WE NEED TO FIGURE OUT IF THEY MAKE PRACTICAL OR LOGICAL SENSE.
I drive all over the city of Los Angeles and I also know the need for water conservation. So for over a year now I have been thinking how we can use our "L.A. River" and at the same time have no worries of a water shortage. Putting all the pennies in the role equals a dollar, now we need to do that with the water.
Here is the idea, of course it will cost but consider the benefits. In the practical world we all know that the "L.A. River" is DRY. It is possible to utilize the energy of the current if we had a current. The energy (Kinetic) would be used to pump the water back up to the valley area allowing for gravity to bring it back down.
Yes bring it back down, logically meaning we have a constant supply of water because mother nature will do it naturally. The cost would be for the massive engines and water lines to pump this water up past Woodland Hills. What we will have is an "L.A. River" that is actually a river with flowing water, if the water is in the river then we will not have a shortage.
This is a very breif explanation for a solution, the full aspect is too lengthy to describe here but I am sure some engineers will read this and make light of the idea, reach me for the details.

No DUMMY...I was the one who the threat was issued TO. Read the post at http://Villaraigosa.blogspot.com.
So when I said I planned on it being a one time issue, I THEN ADDED, that I felt it necessary to post the comment that I believe to be a threat (when you say, "get out of town while the gettins good") for the record, hopefully as a precautionary measure.
And I didn't say it was only going to be a one time post, until I mentioned that I did indeed feel compelled to post the comment for the record. But nice try. And keep posting about it until more people start talking about it.
And remember...I there is really no reason I cannot blog and talk about the mayor's chief of staff.
And it all ties into Grand Ave Project. So you wanna bring that up too and the whole tie in.
If I were the mayor's office, I would try to reign in the person who continues to post about this stuff.
I'm trying to cover some other things, but you keep pulling me back to this...

Hear, hear, Jim Alger! Finally a sane voice on this blog but of course you'd not be allowed to become a blogger even if you had the time because it's absolutely required that you diss the Mayor, Obama and Jack Weiss on virtually every single thread, even if you have to scramble to find the slightest connection to those people from the alleged topic at hand.
What is sadder yet is the the LA Times Now links to this blog along with some 20 others, but this is the only self-styled "local political blog" even though its "bloggers" are nutjobs like zuma dogg and jennerjohn, and formerly Walter Moore til they fell out.
But Moore's partner David Berger/ Rumpole still posts often, maintaining the obligatory bash- the- mayor and Jack Weiss and anyone associated with them "standards." That includes of course Chief Bratton because he's educated enough to brush off the right-wing a.m. radio screamers' rants favoring abolishing SO40. (Sadly the current head of the Police PRotective League Paul Weber is in a battle with Bratton over the issue and hence supports Zine's right-wing choice. I just read the Zine/Zuma BFF column and boy, is that Zine a real whack-job who actually makes zuma seem good.)
With the L A Weekly hiring and promoting Zuma Dogg and L A Now's Maeve Reston and their Op Ed Editors reading THIS blog and letting it influence their slants, it's clear that as the MSM has gone down to join the lowest levels of the blogosphere, there's NOTHING out there we can trust.
What this city needs is a local political blog that does NOT aspire to sink into rude name-calling and blatant political bias, but which fosters open and intelligent discussion. Anyone?
(IF Higby prints this at least it's a plus for him, though he'll post another bash-jackweiss thread just to make up for it.)

Zuma Dogg you are very misguided to think that just because YOU know something, nobody else does.
Talk radio has its own people and resources who hear just as much, if not more, than you do on any given day. Somehow, they manage to making a living at it, while you don't.
So a radio station playing a soundbite that you ALSO happen to have heard does not give you some sort of exclusive. It doesn't prevent others from talking about it. The sound bite does NOT belong to YOU!
And Jim, I agree that it is good for you to reach out to Fatso the Blogger to get his health in order. I think the thing is that you can look at that photo of him that he uses and see that he has zero pride in his appearance. I could have influenza and take a better photo of myself.
Putting something like that up there is representative of who you are. Look at Zuma dogg's get up. He wants to look like a WIGGER, and he does. The problem is that he is a 40+ year old man dressing as a 15 year old boy. The second problem is that it is unbecoming of someone 40+ years old, not to mention his naughty behavior here in downtown. He must have had acting aspirations and this is the closest he can get. Holy mother of all that is holy, the man WREAKED of some sort of tobacco product and he smelled like he came out of the sewer. No wonder he is an angry person. If I looked and smelled like that but had different aspirations, I would scream at the clean cut Erik garcetti. This is why Zumma Dogg and Higby get along. they have zero self pride and present themse3lves in digusting, unkempt ways, justifying theyre awful, nasty and naughty behavior.

3:42pm, I think you need to re-read my comments. I don't think you understood them based on your response. And yes, radio stations have teams and they hear most of the stuff, and just are choosing to cover other stuff. That's what drives me crazy. But I guess I have to realize turning on AM radio for real stuff is like turning on WWE for real Olympic style wrestling.
BUT, I would also like to add, I think that I have proven over the years to get stuff before other mainstream media outlets, every now and then. I HAVE ALREADY BEEN GIVEN CREDIT FOR THAT BY THE HOSTS THEMSELVES, DUMMY.
And finally, yeah, keep in mind when I am cranky and burning bridges faster than even I thought humanly possible; I'm one of those "artistic types" anyway, and unfortunately, it ain't warm and fuzziness that fuels it all; AND I am now more run down than EVER...
It must be a lot of fun to watch. I'm truly turning into one of those cartoon characters in Batman. I don't care who I isolate though, cause ZD is always supposed to be the lone cheese that stands alone...it's always been that way, and looks like will always be that way...I just saw Ten Commandments over the weekend and the ending kinda depressed me.

Secondly, please post the transcript of my comments inside city hall where I am "verbally attacking everyone." I attack legislation/agenda items/policy, not people. Remember, you cannot address councilmembers or attack them, personally. So if you feel I am doing that, you should take it up with the city attorney's office.
