"Thumbs Up" and the "One Finger Salute" for a select few on post election day
Instead of the old and tired "Winners and Losers" on Election Day, lets add a little edge to this post-mortem on yesterday's city-wide elections.
THUMBS UP TO THE FOLLOWING:
Ron Kaye:
Great leadership and vision in educating the public about the scam that was Prop B.
Neighborhood Councils:
The footwork behind the "No on Prop B" movement.
Walter Moore:
The audacity to challenge a sitting mayor may have save our state.
Blogs:
**** with the exception of one on the heights of Mar Vista Hill.
"Nuch":
I meant soon to be City Attorney Nuch.
Doug McIntyre and Kevin James:

Gordon Turner:
Expect some big things from this person who is bridging the races in the inner city.
****Tina Baca Del Rio and Robert Fierro in the city of Commerce:

"ONE FINGER SALUTE" TO THE FOLLOWING:

Antonio Ramon Villar:
A little LAUSD/ Political Math Formula, $3,000,000+ vs. $300,000 for eight challengers for 55% 0f the vote means that you will still be mayor in 2013.

A city of 4 Million people Antonio only got 127,955 votes. That has to be the most pathetic showing of a sitting Mayor in the history of this city. Gavin Newsom, Giramandi, Jerry Brown will shred this asshole to pieces if he runs for Gov. Ace Smith, campaign manager for Antonio has opened up an office in San Franciso.

Do not make up statistics just to TRY and prove your point. It kills whatever good information you DO have.

Antonio got 127,955 without campaigning. He beat nine candidates who didn't get enough votes between them to force a runoff. When the media declared Antonio the winner far in advance of the election his voters became confident and didn't show up. Like him or not, and I don't, those are still the facts.

12:25 Ok Antonio spinner the fact is there are 4 million people in Los Angeles. And the fact is many people didn't vote because they are soooooo disgusted with Antonio's corruption and state of this city knowing he had his illegal friends out in force like the last election voting using people's registered names working at the polling precints.
Oh you forgot to state he spent a fortune running those lies on his commericals claiming to be responsible for the crime drop.

All the politicans should be embarrassed by last night's results. Most of them received less then 10,000 votes in their districts. Antonio is trying to spin his way out of this election saying it was the economy. Will someone please slap him. Another FAILURE and now can't campaign for Governor on Green power or solar
Daily News...The day after winning re-election with 55 percent of the vote, a sober Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said today that he believed voters' fears over the recession played a major role in the outcome.
Voters also rebuked the mayor with the apparent rejection of the Measure B solar initiative, one of his top issues. The controversial measure fell 322 votes short of approval, although the outcome could change as absentee and provisional ballots are counted.
THIS MEANS OVER 45% OF THE PEOPLE OF LOS ANGELES DIDN'T WANT THIS MAYOR. THAT'S NOT COUNTING ALL THE PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T EVEN VOTE.

Thumbs' way up for 1,322 L.A. Voters who may have brought down Measure B.
Thumbs' down for the ignorant voters who just saw' solar on the ballot and voted for the measure.
Thumbs' down for Jack the hack.
Thumbs' way up for all of us who are going to work to make sure Carmen Trutanich is the next City Attorney.
Thumbs' neutral for Walter who can now move to a more acceptable city to seek elective office. Say, somewhere in eastern Washington State of just about anywhere in Idaho. Take your racism and be gone, Walter.
Thumb's way down for every voter who voted for Walter, the racist.

Yes, about 4 million people do now live in L.A. City.
So, let's ask the rest of the questions that seriously deflate that debate.
How many of those are old enough to vote?
(Far less than 3 million.)
How many of those are actually U.S. citizens?
How may of the U.S citizens have a principal place of residence outside L.A. City, even outside the state, etc., or are otherwise registered to vote elsewhere.
How many are homeless (no place to mail voter information to).
How many are convicted felons, or committed to mental institutions, or live under some form of guardianship, or are other wise incapacitated and unable to vote.
In the end, how many of all those probably COULD register to vote if they wanted to...
(Maybe 2.5 million?)
Then, how many actually bothered to register.
(Only about 1.6 million)
Simple rule of debate, when you so obviously exaggerate the basis of your claims, it really doesn't matter if your main point was generally correct (presumably that is was a poor showing overall for voters and the winner - with only 15 percent registered turnout).
It doesn't matter, because you've stated your premise in such an ignorant and alarmist manner that it makes people automatically discount your point entirely.

One down, one to go.
Now we're rid of Wacko Walter for good.
Starting July 1, Mayor Tony V. will effectively be gone (start running for mayor, but with little chance of getting that office).
And, as soon as he pulls away from that pipe dream, probably in Democrat primaries, he becomes our lame duck for good, with no future in politics.
There's always some silver lining!
2013 is LOOKIN' up!

3;30am Yes, Ace "hatchet man" Smith who cares what the numbers are your guy ,gang banger Mayor is being slammed all over the nation for one of the worst voter turnouts since 1977. Gavin Newsom will be on Doug McIntyre tomoorow and at least he has a record of accomplishments in his city. Why is it that all the cities around Los Angeles aren't doing as poorly? Maybe because the Mayor has made LA a sanctuary for illegals and they have brought all their filthy, dirty crap into our city. Taking our tax dollars for their dumb babies like WIC and Welfare, over crowded our schools
Watch your Mayor make an ass out of himself speaking in Spanish to people who don't know any better.
Weiss can kiss city attorney goodbye. Everyone is going to help Tutrunich.

You might want to talk to him about being a write-in candidate if Moore is not interested.
Los Angeles NEEDs a City Attorney who is not silent regarding illegal alien gangs and not afraid to target them.

Moore is even MORE bitter, now!
If people were SO upset and fed up with Villaraigosa, and Moore was the FIRST candidate to declare against him (F-ing YEARS ago), running a LOOOOOOOOONG campaign, but Moore STILL couldn't get half as many votes as Tony V., then... well, can you spell L-O-S-E-R.
(I knew you could).
OH, and here's a new, more appropriate slogan:
Monsieur Moore est AMER.
(And that AIN'T short for "amer-ican").
Hell, wounded, "corrupt" Jimmy Hahn did better against Villaraigosa. Double-hell, even MORE wounded Nick Pacheco did better against Villaraigosa.
Double L-O-S-E-R

Too bad we don't ahve televised exit polling; I can imaging what some of them probably would have said.
Meanwhile, his "future in LA politics" is worth about a small latte, half drunk, and filled with old cigarette butts.

ZD's star is on the rise. He got almost as many votes as Walter did the first time Walter ran. AND Walter had more money that time, too. AND he was running a long time. Does anyone remember a time in LA when Walter wasn't running for mayor? Seems like forever ago.
Anonymous said:
We can get Villar back when he runs for Governor. We'll have another crack at him AND Greuel too.
For now, let's just make sure that WEISS IS OUT!!!!!!!!
Anonymous said:
Zuma should have run for a council district first. That is where he is most needed and is much easier to target and win. He knew he wouldn't win for mayor like dumb ass Walter truly believed.
Anonymous said:
Walter really was stupid saying he would win. ZD only said he was trying to force a runoff. ZD got us 8,000 votes closer and put Villar 8,000 votes closer to shame.
Anonymous said:
There are Provisional Ballots that have not been counted! Walter Moore still has a chance for a run-off against Antonio.

No, Zuma said, a hundred times, at city council that he was going to be mayor.
This is just higby trying to soften the sting of getting less than, what's his name, Gordon Turner or something?
Anonymous said:
To all you haters at least Walter, Zuma and the rest had the balls to actually do something and run against a corrupt Mayor. The fact that so many people voted against the Mayor sends a loud message. You can post hate crap on here but unless any of you morons can actually say I DID SOMETHING TO MAKE A CHANGE IN MY CITY besides acting like a crybaby shut the hell up and go play someplace else. You're the losers, criticizing men who actually took the time to speak out. WE should all be thanking them.
Anonymous said:
No, Zuma said, a hundred times, at city council that he was going to be mayor.
No, I think I said, "You could be looking at the next mayor of Los Angeles." If I DID say I was GOING to be mayor (maybe I did)...please play the audio/video or transcribe it from the original source. That should be easy since you say I said it a hundred times.
AND there are 46,000 ballots still to be counted. And they are the "last minute" voters who had a chance to see all the Good Day L.A. and read all the LA Times coverage. I think Antonio was going down as March 3rd got closer, and you had all the last minute rallying by Doug Mc on KABC, so that could help Walter's percentage, even more...and I think MY percentage may move up slightly with the ballots still to be counted...
So hopefully, I'll hit the 10,000 vote mark, cause that would be like bringing a "Sold-Out" Barry Manilow concert to the polls.
So for a guy with the "Zuma Dogg" image and person that is "baggage" in an election of this nature (low attendance, no obama youth voters, mostly older voters) -- to take 10,000 votes away from Doucharigosa...ain't bad for someone who didn't spend one cent.
So I guess coming in 4th ain't bad for a guy who was sleeping in a vehicle and didn't even have gas money to drive around the city to campaign, let alone hand out a fliers.
The mayor had 3 million and was the mayor. Walter had $300,000 to spend and had right-wing wacky talk radio stations blasting him for a year, besides the commercial time...
Gordon Turner works in the City Attorney's office as Deputy C.A., so he had a slight comeptitive advantage working inside City Hall, perhaps, with all the contacts he made in his position.
And then you have one guy, a basic John Doe (which although I may have created a big image, I'm still just "John Doe" since there is not party, organization, agent or anything behind me.
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT TOOK FROM A PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL LEVEL TO PULL ABOUT 10,000 VOTES (after the additional 46,000 are counted) WITH SUCH A LOW VOTER TURN-OUT?
That's some magic trick. Ask the other six candidates.
And I can tell the crybaby losers ONE THING...I wasn't able to deliver a sold-out Barry Manilow concert to the polls by spending my life obsessed on someone else the way you do. I didn't get those votes by spending as much time talking about Jim Alger as he spends posting about me. JIM, DO YOU HAVE A LIFE BEYOND COMPLAINING ABOUT ME? Where is all this stuff you say I posted? You have brought FAR more attention to this than any single comment I may have posted...and you name was not mentioned in the post. Then you come out and say, "I am the one Zuma is talking about. Zuma how could you say that about me?"
If you would just shut up and not say anything it, no one would even know who or what was being discussed.
JIM, IS IT AT ALL POSSIBLE THAT YOU CAN POST ON CITY ISSUES, WITHOUT HAVING TO INCLUDE ME IN YOUR DISCUSSION? AM I THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS TO YOU WHEN DISCUSSING CITY ISSUES.
Jim, become a leader of your own. Do not define yourself by others.
If you have something to offer to the public, just start offering it, but you are never going to get anywhere as the Anti-ZD guy. You are not going to progress your issue or ever win office by highlighting your time spent as an anti-zd blogger. Jim, quit being such a crybaby-loser. MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE.
Zuma Dogg said:
AND TO ADDRESS THE TALK THAT ZUMA DOGG SHOULD RUN FOR COUNCIL.
No. I will not ever be running for council. I do not wish to be a councilmember. I cannot accomplish my goals to improve the city and do what it takes as a 1 in 15 counciloser.
I am not someone who is desperate to be a politician or elected official.
Petra Fried in the City said:
A bientot, Walter, et bon voyage. Adieu mais pas au revoir. Et cetera.
Too bad Walter's outta here. Alhough I absolutely do not agree with Walter's politics with the exception of Jamiel's Law, 26% is a good number. The smart thing is to stay and be a leader in the community for the next four years, then run again.
Running is something Walter is good at... It's that "...be a leader in the community" part that has him buffalo'd.
Anonymous said:
ZD got almost as many votes as Walter did three years ago. And Walter had been running for three years, not three months like ZD. Even back then, Walter had more money than ZD to spend on an election. If ZD had been running for all those years and got all that money he would be our mayor now. Walter was the wrong candidate. Stay in France Walter, so we concentrate on someone great like Zd to win in 2 years. Your just a wacko distraction.
