So far so good - here's what you've predicted in all it's ugliness, humor, bad jokes and potentially accurate prognostication:

This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

Phil Krakover said "Saltsburg, aka Elliott, aka Zuma Mutt will be banned from all official meetings of the LA City Council. Cheering will be heard across the city."
LOL That was funny. If the Mutt had a many jobs as he does names he'd actually be able to afford a tank of gas!

sounds like huizar's original flunky staff that got fired just can't get over that they got fired: ricardo and torres.

If the Mutt had as many jobs as he does names, he probably wouldn't have been in Villaraigosa and Council's face all this time, either.

we'll see how smart the weekly staff under jill stewart looks after their cover story on zuma mutt as poster boy for free use of cable access and unlimited council/Ch 35 public comment backfires on ALL of them, the earnest and non-self-promoting wacko "producers" of those cable shows. (Weeding out the religious wackos and fading porn stars looking for a new venue, there are a couple.)

Zuma, Walter, David remember to tell the people we would have had more officers 4 years ago but Villaraigosa twice voted NOT TO GET MORE OFFICERS. hE IS GOING TO CAMPAIGN TELLING PEOPLE HE GOT US MORE OFFICERS. In 2003 city council VOTED NOT to hire 320 budgeted and again in 2005 VILLARAIGOSA VOTED NO to a 1/2 cent sales tax to hire more officers. He will campaign on getting more officers but it not the truth.
Daily News.....Kotkin and other critics give the mayor low marks for what they see as a lack of attention to detail. They credit him only for his follow-through on efforts to increase the LAPD by 1,000 officers, a goal that could be met in 2009. David Diaz, a professor of urban policy at California State University, Los Angeles, says he believes the mayor has had a mediocre year.
"He hasn't really had a singular achievement," he said. "Even though he campaigned for Obama, I think most people will remember he was for Hillary. And she lost.
"He isn't really dealing with the city's fiscal crisis. I will give him that no one envisioned the economic problems we have and that has made it difficult to be proactive."

A year from now:
"This was the bad year that Antonio Villaraigosa who lost his bid for a second term to the omnipresent Zuma Dogg, and then went into exile over sheer embarrassment. Ex-mayor Villarigosa's unusual campaign move of buying all newstand copies of the bad press received from the times, about $100 spent there, was viewed by many as the last rational act of a desperate incumbent, however leaving free access to LA WEEKLY stories was his downfall."
There's a few more scenarios possible for Tony in 2009, more grim and ugly. You know losing an election with all the pay-to-play- motive of non-constituent contributors' donations at his disposal leaves him no excuse to accomplish an erasure of what really was a malfeasant performance (rating zero) for term one, the one and only one.

I predict Don Quixote will continue to bore us with stories about his abuelita and the oppressed mexican, robber baron republicans in 2009.
Let's all hope he finds a new hobby, maybe he can create a new blog and write about where the best menudo and huevos rancheros can be found.
Meanwhile here is a nice blog where Don Quixote can read about his fantasy nirvana called mexico.

The L A Times/ fishwrap of record has an editorial on 12/26 "Say Cheesey Councilman Zine" about how he's starting to "make a spectacle of himself" over paparazzi law he's still pushing even though it has no support from the Chief or anyone except a few spoiled "celebs" like John Mayer and maybe Paris Hilton.
The piece says that even Britney seems to have moved on past her emotional crisis of earlier this year, "but Councilman Zine has not." Pretty direct blast at him.
Zine, where are you going with this? You've had your 15 minutes. Part of leadership is knowing when to give up when you have no support.
However he may be right that there needs to be more enforcement of the laws we have like trespassing, loitering, and obstructing another driver. Right after we have more cops to take care of the gang problem and property thefts which are rising. More cops in general, anyone? But wait, aren't Parks and Smith trying to cut back on police hiring, and where's Zine on that one?
