There's an Opinion in Daily News: LAUSD should finally be busted up. Yeah! But not if the Westside is stuck with the Valley alone -- no way. We suffer all the Valley's traffic clogging up every canyon, the 405 -- requiring razing of homes -- every main thoroughfare. T
They SHOULD already be paying a PERMIT FEE to come south of Mulholland -- like drivers must in London, and even in NYC they're planning a $6.00 surcharge to go south of 61st St., "midtown." On top of tolls getting into Manhattan period, along every bridge and tunnel.
So meanwhile the Valley has to pay its share of the Hispanics who make up over 2/3 of LAUSD, and have sunk it like a stone.
Ideally, East L A would secede, but even the La Raza Reconquistas have backed off, realizing they couldn't make it on their own. They NEED the "anglos" they hate so much to pay for their schools, healthcare, cops, roads, everything. They have no tax base to speak of on their own so their socialist politicians like Reyes, Alarcon, Huizar, keep going after the westside and even Valley to give MORE, MORE, MORE.

The LAUSD should have been busted up years ago. The LAUSD has about a 50% drop out rate. Can you say dumb-ass illegal aliens?
Of course the people in the Westside don't want dumb cholo kids bused in from Los Angeles. Why do you think the whites left Los Angeles for Santa Clarita and Simi Valley?
The majority of whites moving into downtown Los Angeles are folks with no kids. Who would want their kids in schools full of dumb-asses, cholos, drugs and violence?
LAUSD is to damn big to manage; time to create many small school districts. Let the Mexicans in East Los Angeles try their cultural experiment. After the Mexicans realize their graduate students are only qualified to mange a McDonalds drive-thru window, they will go back to basics of math, science and "Engrish".
