Sports Before it Happens?
Back in the day on the blog, for a while, Walter O'Malley covered sports. He had some great pieces here at the Sister City, then he got the "Golden Ticket" for a big professional sports gig and had to leave us behind.
Joe Mailander's great piece on today's Dodger expo game at the Coliseum reminded me that for some time I've been thinking about bringing some sports coverage back.
So if you're inclined to write about sports, want to join the Blogging Burros and are good at it, contact me for a Golden Ticket at mayorsamyorty@aol.com.

The reason the piece by Joe worked is because it was (a) very well done and (b) because it's UNCOMMON for the blog.
You're going to ruin it if you make it a regular thing.
And if you do that, then please change the name of the blog to something like "Mayor Sam's Politics and Unrelated Things."
I for one will be checking in a lot less if you continue down this road about Valley Doll's irrelevance and Jack Hoff's farts. I'm truly puzzled about all that crap this past week.

I was sure that Dave Elliott was gone from here. He's the only one who can predict things before they happen.
(But he never tells you until after it is reported in the Times)

3:34 p.m. - Not a Joke
4:51 p.m. - I can't control the farts and don't know about them, but when Walter (O'Malley not Moore) was doing sports related pieces it was quite good.
10:17 a.m. - Yes THAT was a gag. When political folks go to a watering hole when they take a few moments to talk about something other than themselves, they discuss sports, Hollywood, sex, etc. Why not give them a little of that here?
