Lincoln Heights Chamber of Commerce Presidential "Tug 'o War" Attracts Former CM Art Snyder To The Battle
click to read documentThere is currently an attempt to remove Stephen Sarinana-Lampson as President of Linclon Heights Chamber of Commerce (LHCC). (Some say to have him silenced over a little discovery he stumbled upon regarding a second set of books).
click to readIt is said to have been orchestrated by former president Steve Kasten who held the office for 25 of the last 29 years. "Kasten is a long time friend and associate of Snyder, going back to the days when neighborhood deals were sealed with a wink of the eye", according to one community member who contacted Zuma Times.
These pieces (see pictures) are an "official" ballot and the "instruction" piece that accompanied it - are the result of Snyder's influence in guiding the Chamber in this matter. Looks pretty biased (partial) for something regarding a vote. "Clearly any semblance of fairness in this process cannot be achieved by the content of both the instructions and ballot language forwarded to members", is how someone with a better vocabulary than ZD says it.
All of this began when Lampson discovered a second bank account that was controlled by the past president and past treasurer at the same time that it was discovered that the LHCC was out of compliance with it's 501(c)(6) status for 29 years!
Zuma Times heard that Lampson told Kasten that he was not interested in his continued advisement as president, "particularly since the LHCC has become nothing more than a social club -- and has done nothing for the Lincoln Heights business community in the last few years", according to Mr. Vocabulary.
The information that has been sent out to the members about the election to remove Lampson as President -- by Kasten and his supporters on the Board -- are said to be filled with false information; hearsay; and half-truths, according to a Lampson supporter in the community who is outraged by what is happening.
According to ZD's count, 5 (five) Board members -- and many general members -- are still in support of keeping Stephen Lampson as President which is why ZD has been contacted by people in the area with the information that went into this thread.
And the people who contacted Zuma Times say there are even more people in the community (and beyond) who are quite amazed that those on the Board fighting against
Lampson would drag Snyder into it toward the effort of getting rid of the (second-set-of-book-finding) LHCC President Stephen Sarinana-Lampson.
"They" tell me there is something bigger here than the people first thought. Some old sharks are circling the Chamber...must be something BIG worth fighting for coming to Lincoln Heights!??!

Can people on this topic be a little more illuminating on the gripe and not so cryptic as if we are "insiders" as apparently most of the posters are?
Up to now it just sounds like a older version of a playground name-calling bout. I would like to care, but I can't see why.
BTW, two phrases to consider:

could still ANOTHER former CM be ready to start pulling in this "tug o war"?
personally, if my street-ears are as finely-tuned as they usually are -- this is the kind of chatter that could easily result in a LA Times story, covering the aftermath (after all the results are in, so to speak).

I am a community member in Lincoln Heights and let me tell you the Chamber did nothing and stood for nothing until Steve Lampson came on board as President. Now they are having this stupid and illegal election recession. I hope this chamber is investigated and that Lampson sues the heck out of them for all of their illegal actions and allegations against him.
