Home Depot gives $25,000 to Support "Prop R"!
As much as I rail against Home Depot for everything from their arrogant disregard for communities to their inability to dispose of trash properly, it took a real investigative journalist to tie together our fight against Home Depot and Prop R.
In todays edition of the LA Weekly, DAVID ZAHNISER (The Z Files), weaves together a
complex and revealing story that gets to the root of the pay to play system in LA
politics, and questions why lobbyists would support a proposition that appears to be designed to curtail their influence.
You can read the online story at;

In other media news regarding Home Depot, KNBC will be airing a hard hitting investigation into Home Depot's questionable business practices tonight at 11 pm.
Joel Grover is the reporter, and this story comes complete with hidden cameras,
ex-employees telling all, and my favorite line, " I wouldn't even buy a box of nails from this company."

Do you know why Kerry made the stupid comment?
Kerry's favor to Mayor Villaraigosa.
AV plan for Angelides downfall. Kerry tarnished Angelides at PCC.
Last thing I want is for MAV to get sick over backstabbing.

The Prop R proponents really have some dough to push this flawed clowncil term-lengthening measure. I've received three different slick glossy mailers in the last few days. One has Slick Dick Riordan blathering how Prop R will "make City government more accountable, transparent and responsive to voters' needs." Another one has a pic of a cup of joe with $1.50 underneath and spouts "For less than the cost of a cup of coffee we can reform LA City Government." And the third gets to the crux of the matter: "Prop R will establish a limit of three terms in office (twelve years total) for councilmembers."
Just a bunch of misleading garbage. The limit for clowncil member terms should stay at two especially based on their poor performance. (I love Garcetti's public sector mentality: "Gee, I screwed up for 8 years so I need 4 more at $175,000 per year".) I hope what little grass roots opposition there is against Prop R is able to help defeat this disgusting measure.

The putrid ties between corporations like Home Depot, developers, PR firms, lawyers, lobbyists, LADBS, City Planning, the CRA, smart growth urban planners, cronies, the Mayor, and the clowcilmembers is real.
Finally, the stench of truth beginning to ooze like pus from a boil is drawing attention and publicity to the disease at City Hall.

If Home Depot thinks they can buy even one city councilmember for $25K then they're too stupid to win their battle.
If they CAN buy council votes for that, we should be talking about recalls and ethics charges, not whether to give them a third term.

I agree w/ Nov. 2, 10:46 pm... Why give Councilmembers another term when they have screwed up (that's putting it lightly) in the first 2?? Have you noticed how suddenly all new projects and proposals bounced up once this Proposition was introduced? Every local councilmember had something "in the works"... Reyes suddenly has his mixed use river project... Gimme a break... If you haven't learned what your constituents want and need in 8 years, you DON'T DESERVE 4 more years to figure it out!!

2:44 PM,
When shall we start with the ethics charges and recalls?
How about Tuesday morning, the day after Ms. Greuel meets with the community to tell us what she is going to do to stop Home Depot?
We could start a pool!

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen (holds handkerchief to nose):
Bloody hell, what is that most offensive stink? I thought that the truth was supposed to hurt and not smell, savvy? Smells like someone piffed a real banger. Not a quiff. Piff.
In response to an earlier question about my being in a certain audience on a certain day, I am merely a pirate. Nothing more, nothing less. I am not a student, as I am old enough to drink rum. But the rest I will leave to your imagination.
Back to the comment at hand. The stench is starting to invade the space between the lines, the nooks and crannies of even the finest homes in the City. One can suppose you can turn a blind eye or a deaf ear...but you can't cut the nose off to spite your own face now, can you?
All the while many have been saying to follow the money, look at the donations, see for yourself. The sots in City Hall would take you for mindless fools, but this pirate knows better. On Tuesday the voters have a chance to put an end to the mess. The pirate advises to vote against anything and everyone that the Mayor has endorsed.
ONE DOWN! PADILLA IS IN THE WATER, CEDILLO, NUNEZ, ROMERO AND DELEON ARE ON THE PLANK. SARNO IS NOT FAR BEHIND.
The rest walk in March. Bugger the poor sots, I hope they know how to swim.
PS: The crew and I send our deepest and sincerest condolences to Ms. Bass (places hat over heart).

This is even more reason to VOTE NO ON PROP R. These morons clowncil members are shameful. Jason Lyon was great on Channel 4 stating that the Yes on R wants you to believe they will clean up special interest money in city hall YET ALL THE DONATIONS FOR YES ON R HAVE COME FROM SPECIAL INTERESTS. IDIOTS!!!
L.A. term limits campaign gets late boost
Late contributions from billionaire Ronald Burkle and the Morongo Band of Mission Indians have provided a last-minute financial boost to the campaign to ease term limits for Los Angeles City Council members.
