Underdone and Overbuilt
I haven't contributed here in a while, but I still have a skeleton (Skelton?) key to the place, and I can't bear to see a day go by without a post, so Hello Kitty and Hello City.
Chronic charmer Antonio Villaraigosa was charmed himself today, it looks like. Did you read this story on the meeting between the Mayor and the Chief yet? Brewer said "The Mayor and I are joined at the hip." Antonio said the Chief was "the right guy at the right time."
Wouldn't it be great if the Times scribe asked actual questions on substantive issues---like whether or not the School Chief thinks the District is being overbuilt or not? Instead, we got the scoop for the hundredth time on how a newcomer often fumbles with the Mayor's last name, which is also a notorious westside guy's favorite anglo...er, angle.
Hey, and all you fourth floor wackos---I miss your anonymous comments. Grab a fake ID and go for it. Once more into the breach!

Message to Tony: saccharin won't fix teh LAUSD.
I don't know, Mr. Members. If I've got school enrollment stats in pocket (declining) and I see all these half-built schools around town (expensive) while I'm driving around town looking for a cute little $900K townhouse to buy, and I see a former board member now on City Council with enough money in pocket to have run a winning campaign, I can draw some conclusions pretty quickly.

"HIS POLLONESS" was in "POLLORAIGOSA form yesterday at the "SUMMIT IN THE POLLO KOOP". The "LAUSD SEVEN" should be given credit for standing up to the mayor on his phony takeover in the name of the people. Teachers who I have talk to have express approval of the selection of Admiral David Brewer. This does not fare well for "PUFF DUFFY" and the other members of the "UTLA POTIBURO", as seen recently with "vote against AB 1381" by the rank and file.
In light of todays explosive article on the death of Miguel Contreras in the Weekly. I expect that "HIS POLLONESS" may have some tough days ahead(ie. SEIU 99 CORUPTION TRIAL).
I gotta agree with North Valley NC Members. It will be awhile before they are 'under-crowded'. You might see that might see that in a few instances her and there but the big picture is that there are not enough seats yet.
On the otherhand...STOP send them bond money. They are poor money managers and there's never enough because of it.
It's time to break up the district into a bakers dozen.
