Where's Antonio? Handing out awards to soap opera producers? Nope. Speaking at some group awards dinner at a local hotel? Not quite. Bicycling the length of the Orange Line with Lance Armstrong? Nope. Mayor Villaraigosa is spending Friday in Memphis, speaking at the National Conference of Black Mayors, where he will receive the President's Award.

Too bad i'm in DC and not in Memphis this week. I'd go to the Memphis Marriott just to heckle his ass. No doubt that in this election year, he's there meeting with U.S. Rep. Harold Ford who is from Memphis, and also at the conference. AV trying to get more black friends outside of L.A. I hope he took a black staffer with him.
You would think someone who had a death threat made against him would be a little more intelligent then traveling all over. I'm sure he took his LA detail and let's see how many staffers all on our tax payer dime. Did he take a regular flight or Ameriquest again. Hymon find out how much this cost us.
As a member of this community I demand why the mayor not only took his political deputy mayor Kevin, but he took like four members of the LAPD's degnitary detail. What is the tab on that people, lets put this thing to light, number of personell times their salary, equals money out of my pocket...for this?
Shameful the media did stories on Bratton being out of town and detailed everything. Are they too chicken shit to go after our mayor? How many times has he been out of LA in 9 months and with his security detail, staff etc. how much is this costing tax payers when the city is $270 million deficit. C'mon let's see which reporter has the balls to research. Orlov, Hymon, McGreevy, Zahniser, Anderson-LA Weekly.
