Open Thread for Friday

Look for this to be the last day of substantive posts in 2005. Odds are the next updates won't come in until Tuesday morning, January 2. Have a great weekend and beginning to 2006!

Again our moron city council members are wasting our tax dollars on stupid studies. Didn't Daily News report DWP were also hiring a consultant for $522,000?

The City Council had voted a month before, however, to require the DWP to arrange an independent financial review before implementing the hikes.

The council awarded a $360,000 contract in late October to Barrington-Wellesley Group to conduct the probe. The results will determine how the utility proceeds with any rate change, Battle said.

The candidates for the LAUSD District 2 race have only a week to submit their signatures to the City Clerk. I haven't seen a single candidate or their hired signature gathers collecting signatures (althoug I did see one candidate at Tacos Michocan eating up a storm).

Hello?

Hellooooo?

Nope, nobody home.

This blog's the next one to die. (Even a District 2 LAUSD race won't create enough CD14 interest to feed off of).

Buh-by!

It is a friday in the middle of a holiday week dumb fuck! Of course it is slow. You still managed to get here though, so what does that say about you?

11:24 (which defensive dead mayor are you?)

It means you and I are the most miserable "dumb fuck" lonely bloggers in a city of 4 million (and that this blog died after the special election).

And that you are such a sorry sap that you posted the same tell-tale response in two different threads.

Go get a lapdance, geek!

I don't think the blog is dying. It's just still the holiday period. I know my husband has been off since December 23rd and doesn't go back to work until January 2nd or 3rd. The kids are home all next week also.

I'm having a hard time going to work and wondering what they're doing at home. When I drag home around 6, there is no time for blogging.

Remember the old TV show Tombstone Territory? They signed off the air by saying:

"That's the way it happened in the town too tough to die."

So it is with the MSSSB (see what you started with MAV?). We'll be having this conversation a year from today.

We're shutting down and going home until Tuesday. Happy New Year Mayors and bloggers. Try to stir up some more action for next week, OK?

Horoscopes!

Horoscopes, yeah! If they're good enough for Nancy Reagan, they're good enough for us!

Or you could always do the hottest or the smartest or the hardest working City Hall employees again. That was fun.

Then, with no immediate elections on the horizon, we should concentrate on real local issues. There are a lot of them coming up that are vitally important.

So - horoscopes vs tough issues. Hm, you be the judge Mayor Sam and Frank.
