Gloria Molina Screws Girls School?
Once in a while, one of our readers posts something that is worthy of being an article in it's own right. I don't know who posted this, but its excellent material and worthy of further discussion and investigation. We can not yet vouch for any of the material facts made, but we will look into. Without any further ado...
Mayors,
You missed a good article this weekend on Ramona High School in East L.A. and the fight against MTA. The story in the LA Times highlights the plight of this girls only continuation school against the powerful MTA.
The real story behind this is Gloria Molina's vindictiveness. The original plans for the East L.A. Light Rail extension called for a stop at Lorena and 1st, the location of the El Mercadito, an East L.A. landmark with over 50,000 weekend visitors. The owner of this Mexican Mall supposedly is not an ally of Gloria, although the owner insists he never has had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Molina. But he got some help from Alatorre and Pacheco and in Gloria's eyes he is now the enemy.
She moved the MTA stop from this location, two blocks up to the Ramona School site. Her buddy Frank Villalobos of Barrio Planners got paid twice for drafting the plans for this line - first with the Mercado stop and then the $23 million dollar Ramona Stop addendum. Not bad for a simple trip to Kinko's. Oh and Ron Martinez, Gloria's husband, is on Villalobos' payroll.
Gloria had Sachi Hamai of the Health Department raid El Mercadito 40 times in 2003. Gloria has turned the L.A. County health inspectors into her own little gestapo. This while Community Health Foundation - a $40 million a year community/county clinic operation - was filing for bankruptcy protection. Oh yeah, Ron Martinez was also on this organization's payroll. El Mercado businesses had been able to organize serious opposition to the Ramona Plan - but the MTA board didn't care.
It's all there Mayor Sam, the original plans for this Light Rail extension, the contractors, the donors, Gloria's recent purchase of beach front property in Ventura County and the El Monte apartments, the list goes on and on.
This school needs help, where is Huizar?

And to answer the trailing question here, as well. . .
Who-zar?
He's in the AV council-mode now, taking lessons from the deadbeat "council daddy" of CD14.
All activity INSIDE the district ceases once you're elected.
He'll be sitting on AV's right hand now, waiting for orders. And we know what "orders" AV gave re: CD14 for two years (ignor them until I GO AWAY!)

Dude, if what this post says is true, who cares about "Where is Huizar"? The guy just got into office.
What about Gloria Molina?
"It's all there." - but I don't see any links to documents, and proof of any of the statements made in the post.
If it shocks you to know that politicians make a living at what they do (i.e. the "beachfront property"), then you don't belong in politics.
I spent a month riding around Boyle Heights near locations of the new train stops, looking for property to invest in. Maybe there is another reason that the site of the station has been moved - i.e. a large property owner in the area. Vindictiveness is a cool story and all, but it seems like an awful lot for Molina to leave hanging in the wind by being this vindictive.

AV was more like the molesting step-dad of the 14th than the council daddy of the 14th.
Jose can thank AV for the lack of respect from people in the 14th and the city who know better.

Like most politicians, Gloria Molina is a wreck of a human being. Long ago she forgot that her job is to serve, not to be served. Unfortunately for the ignorant peasants subject to her fiefdom, her constituents, the repugnant layers of fat she sports so shamelessly are more than insulation for her black soul; they are symbolic of her political fortitude.

ubrayj02 you little stupid fag. Read the newspaper, pendejo. Huizar is involved because he is not protecting CD14 stop. i KNOW HE'S NOT IN OFFICE YET. But Jose "Mini Me" Weasel, Villababoso and Molina are placing it just inside unincorporated ELA, baboso. A stop inside CD14 would be a big economic lift for the area and for sales tax dollars at the Mercadito, tarugo. If you're not politically informed get off the pages you NIKE FAG. Stop trying to acting like you are impartial, mamon !

Aaaaaaagh!
Next time, before you post, keep your pulpy little fingers away from the computer and remember to take your anti-psychotic meds.
You're a pathetic excuse for an anti-Huizarista/anti-everything baboso maricon.
Is all of this because I stopped alimony payments to your mom? Lighten up, I had to buy my "NIKE"s with that money.
See you in North East L.A., sucka.
p.s. I've heard this same rumor a couple of months ago, but it seems too bald-faced to be true. There is NO OTHER REASON for moving the station?? Really? That seems unlikely. If Molina's will is the only reason, then she just handed her opponents a great means of attacking her politically. This is a scandal with evidence, otherwise, it's just rumors. But I am sure that your pathetic little cabeza is too busy lining up at Winchels for fresh crullers to think about things like that.

2:46pm is definitely an uneducated, immature moron. He can't speak on an adult level so he goes to gutter level to feel comfortable attacking someone he doesn't know cause they have their own opinion. I wish for the day these posters go someplace else to sprew their hatred and this blog keeps the intelligent people who know how to debate with their minds not their foul mouths.

Mayor Sam, you need some proof or back-up materials on this. GloMo is a stupid cow but that's not enough to prove the poster's allegations. Where's the beef?

Politics is a corrupt profession. It is all about money. Local politicians do not care about the community.

Flashback time. Part of a May 31, 1993 LA Times article:
"Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina's husband won a $193,200 consulting contract after Molina's appointee to a local transit board helped derail awards to competing firms, records show.
Antonio Villaraigosa, a Molina appointee, abstained from voting on the awarding of the contract to Molina's husband, Ron Martinez, a Los Angeles affirmative action consultant.
But Villaraigosa twice voted to rescind award of the contract to other firms after Martinez had lodged formal protests.
The vote on Martinez's contract occurred less than 24 hours before new regulations took effect that would have blocked his selection.
Villaraigosa, now Molina's alternate on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, said he broke no laws and merely wanted to make sure that Martinez had a fair opportunity to win the contract.
He acknowledged that his 14-year friendship with Martinez may have influenced his actions. "I'm sorry if it looks bad--I never meant to do anything bad," said Villaraigosa, a union official who served as best man at the Martinez-Molina wedding.
"Did the fact that I know him come into play? Maybe," Villaraigosa said. "I wasn't going to ding him because I knew him."

Okay you right wingers, ready to flip your lid? You know what that Martinez "consulting" contract was for? It was to oversee affirmative action compliance - to make sure enough minorities were hired for MTA projects. Ron Martinez's copnay "PeopleWorks" has been getting behind the scenes contracts for nearly two decades now. And guess what, there is still no subway in East L.A..
Later in the decade, Mike Hernandez was able to get Martinez a contract for the city program "Bridges" - despite PeopleWorks placing third among three bidders. Mike, Ron and Antonio were all - and probably still are - snorting buddies. Thaty's why Ron ended up in California, he was escaping a cocaine rap in Arizona where he got busted.

$193,200 to check if you are a minority or not?!!!!! Where can I get somne of this action?
Anonymous said:
Archie, stop discrediting Cholos - these three guys wouldn't even be allowed to shine their shoes. At least Cholos have some honor code, Antonio, Ron and Mike don't. When was the last time you saw a Cholo get busted snorting cocaine on camera?

I hope Patrick McGreevy and Steve Hymon of LA Times is reading this. Also David Z of Daily Breeze fame.

This is not exactly news. Competent members of Molina's staff (i.e., Carrie Sutkin) leave because they can't deal with her and her arrogant group of deputies.
Anonymous said:
Who worked for Molina, what arrogant deputies?
Anonymous said:
Well for starters I don't like Nicole. Way too pushy (I work in a county department, that Nicole has jurisdiction over). Some of them are warmed over political hacks requiring payback (c.f. Cristina CM) and others are just filler.
Out of the County supervisor deputies I deal with, Antonovich has the best and most competent. Burke is the most blatantly political.

All of you are correct about Gloria Molina, but whats new?
Boyle Heights and East L.A are in hell with their political representatives, not including Huizar, is to early to tell. however, apparently we elected AV, Gloria, and now Huizar at a record breaking votes, or did we?
Give Huizar a chance....
Didn't Gloria Molina buy property around 3rd/4th and Indiana in the city of LA, not the county? Ramona High School just happens to be in the same area Gloria purchased property. Just ask the neighbors.

Mayor Sam,
Get your facts straight about the El Mercado in Boyle Heights.
The illegal pharmaceutical drug bust was not in 2003. It was in 1998. Over 2 million dollars worth of drugs were confiscated there by the health dept and other authorities. Tell us... What the hell is 6 pints of ether doing in the El Mercado? Why is there an underground clinic?
It is not a landmark! It is a drug dealing dump that is owned by a person who has been shot at several times for doing bad business. His fingers have been severed. Read LA Times article written by George Ramos who interviewed Pedro Rosado, the so-called owner of Arcadia, CA.
Gloria Molina did the right thing in trying to protect the community from a so-called businessman who has no respect for the Mexican culture and the community of Boyle Heights.
The El Mercado needs to be demolished and something positive built there, such as a school...
