Open Thread for Labor Day
The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City, in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. The Central Labor Union held its second Labor Day holiday just a year later, on September 5, 1883.In 1884 the first Monday in September was selected as the holiday, as originally proposed, and the Central Labor Union urged similar organizations in other cities to follow the example of New York and celebrate a "workingmen's holiday" on that date. The idea spread with the growth of labor organizations, and in 1885 Labor Day was celebrated in many industrial centers of the country.

Public Works Announces New Neighborhood Council Outreach Plan -- Commissioner Yolanda Fuentes pledges support of department
Los Angeles (September 1, 2005) - The Board of Public Works announced that Commissioner Yolanda Fuentes will lead a new outreach plan for neighborhood councils.
The outreach plan will include a personal visit by Commissioner Fuentes at neighborhood council meetings to present a comprehensive written report on all Department of Public Works services and projects for each neighborhood in Los Angeles...
To request Commissioner Fuentes to attend a neighborhood council meeting, call the Public Affairs Office at (213) 978-1699 or email at pwrequest@bpw.lacity.org.
Thoughts? I find this interesting for many reasons. Plus, the DPW has been sending representatives to neighborhood council meetings from the beginning. Why the new interest Yolanda? Don't get me wrong I'm glad a Commissioner is coming out to the meetings because they need to know what's going on in their community.
I suggest you neighborhood council folks give them a call or send an email to get a report on what's going on in your community
Skeptical Tip...I am interested to know who may be using the city vehicles, but I am sure city employees are well versed in do's and don'ts. I guess we'll wait and see.

Its rude for an elected official to park in a spot for the disabled, but its downright criminal for city staffers to use city cars for campaigns.
We'd be glad to hear. Just give us as much as you can, cause we aren't going to just post anything you send us.

Ha ha ha. You know, the blog feels pretty normal to me for a laid-back SoCal weekend.
My guess (and perhaps my hope) is that the edginess will return in due course.

Parker/Faker has NO credibility left whatsoever.
He would be the perfect person to re-post the lies about Nick (Never been charged with anything) Pacheco. With Laura Chick and others gunning for anyone who was not on AV's team, that would have been a natural, except there's NO smoking gun. just AV/Huizar hacks smoking something else.
PLEASE have Parker/Faker post those things, get the lies out in the open so they can be TRASHED, once again.

Chief Parker aka Michael Trujillo must have gotten in major trouble cause he hasn't posted his crap since being outed. He was always by Antonio's side during mayoral campaign.
Don't forget all the transfers of funds AV is moving from CD 14. He's transferring $550,000 from the Captial Expenditure Fund to the El Sereno Constituent Center.
Let's see who has the guts to VOTE NO on Valerie and go against Antonio.
