Pre-CSULA Pat Brown Institute, League of Women Voters CD 14 City Council Debate Notes

For those who did not RSVP in time for tonight's CSULA Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs, League of Women Voters CD 14 Debate at the University, you can join the Avance Democratic Club Debate Watch Party at the "Politically-connected Hecho En Mexico Restaurant" in El Sereno.
The El Sereno Place for your Politically-connected Gathering (with a price of course).
Join you fellow members of the Democratic Machine for drinks and a yummy crusine (with a price of course).
In noting Councilman Huizar's most recent allocation of GCP funding, we wonder if the Politically-connected Eatery's, next door neighbor will be providing pre-debate entertainment (maybe a sacrifice of a certain blogger?).

** Post LA-32 NC Candidate Forum Disclosures: For those who had reservations about what was an objective evening of interactive dialog among the candidates, consider these photos below.
First, this is a photo from conclusion of last Friday's LA-32 NC CD 14 Candidate Forum with from left to right, Candidate Mario Chavez, LA-32 NC Ad-Hoc Elections Committee Member Jose Aguilar, Cabdidate Nadine Diaz, LA-32 NC Vice-President Kaprisha Vallecillo, Candidate Gloria Molina, LA-32 NC Ad-Hoc Comm. Member Tom Williams and LA-32 NC Marleen Fonseca.
Second, note Marleen Fonseca on lower left with fellow EAA Members ......, and Councilman Jose Huizar.
Third, note that Marleen's Employer EAA has endorsed ........, Councilman Jose Huizar.
Fourth, notice the white hair Tom Williams in the Sierra Club Mailer supporting ....... , Councilman Jose Huizar.
Again, those who did not attend (or wasted their time in calling for a boycott of the event), missed an engaging discussion of the issues. That said, if the CD 14 Campaign goes to a Runoff, it would be advisable that Ms. Fonseca and Mr. Williams remove themselves from the LA-32 NC Ad-Hoc Elections Committee.
Your thoughts ..............

  3. The CSULA debate was a good debate and probably the only one has been held thus far where the organizers did not 1.) openly state their support for their own candidate or 2.) provide buttons and cupcakes with campaign promotion info or 3.) have one of the NC members sponsoring the event onstage smirking to the side after the comments of the "other candidates" besides their favored one.

Debate objectivity has been in large part disregarded by debate cheerleaders promoting the need to know and the need to vote and democracy, blah blah blah!

The sad fact that has been revealed (see CLARTS fund allocations) is that the NCs that sponsored the debates have been recipients of targeted funds for "community projects" by the incumbent - mostly doled out this year of pre-election campaigning.
