With less than one week away from election day I want you to know why I am supporting the re-election of Los Angeles City Councilmember Nury Martinez for the 6th District. I’m not only supporting Nury because she has been a champion for our children, for good paying jobs, and focused on the delivery of basic city services, but, what I love most about Nury is that she will fight for her community until the job gets done. ** BTW, this is an example how the Husband of Councilwoman Nury Martinez, Gerry Guzman, gets rich in seeking contributions to help fight for his wife's re-election, when working with a "Big Tobacco-related PAC, Keep CA Strong". From the LA Times: "Keep CA Strong" has some ties to Martinez's husband, political consultant Gerry Guzman. Guzman's onetime boss, former state Assemblyman Raul Bocanegra, has raised money for the committee, Behr said. Between September and December, Keep CA Strong paid more than $284,000 to Guzman's firm, G7 Strategy Group, for various political services, according to the secretary of state's website.  Nury has always stepped up to the plate even when people said it wasn’t possible to clean up a neighborhood, improve the schools, or address the issue of prostitution and sex trafficking.  She never gives up. This is personal to me.  Nury is the only woman on the Los Angeles City Council and has made all of us proud by making sure her voice is heard loud and clear and has been steadfast in her efforts to help elect more women to public office. ** BTW, note how Nury and fellow Northeast San Fernando Valley Political Machine Member, CD 7 City Councilman Felipe "Mini Padilla" Fuentes allocated staffing resources to intimidate/observe the counting of ballots (as directed by Gerry, allegedly) in the recent 39th AD Elections won by the "other woman", now Assemblywoman Patty Lopez. CD 6 Staffers on November 10, 2014 in Norwalk CD 7 Staffers in Norwalk on three days, observing the 39th AD Ballot Count. As we get down to the final days of walking precincts and making phone calls, I need your help – Nury needs your help. Please contribute to Nury’s campaign and if you live in the district please go out to vote. A historically low turnout is expected and every vote will count. Click here to contribute online.
