New Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council President Jose AguilarLongtime community activist, political junkie and friend of Mayor Sam Jose Aguilar, took the Oath of Office, as the new President of the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council.
Aguilar, who is an veteran of many political battles throughout the City of Los Angeles, beat Mayor Parkervillar and Councilman Jose Huizar ally Sal Martinez, in last springs elections in Boyle Heights.
The likes of City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, Los Angeles Community College Trustee Tina Parks and Phil Jennerjahn, have benefited from Aguilar's tenacious political footwork.
No doubt that Councilman Huizar and his small group of allies on the new BHNC, will have their political agenda, hindered by Aguilar.

Nah, it won't take 2 months, more like two weeks. That guy is a complete nutbag who can't make a coherent statement if his life depended on it.

No one ever went to their meetings and everything they did they had to GET APPROVAL FROM HUIZAR

Jose is one of the most sincerely concerned community activists in Los Angeles. He has tirelessly worked for positive change. There are sometimes fumbles along the way but it is hard to question Jose's commitment to doing good and not just kissing the ass of control freak Councilmember Huizar.

How pathetic there are grown adults posting such juvenile hateful, negative rantings about Jose Aguilar. It says a lot about their parenting and how they were brought up to behave like thugs to get their message out. They obviously aren't educated and are behaving like the gangsters in the area they live in. Jose Aguilar has a lot of support and although we may not always be on the same page on issues, he is an intelligent, resourceful, active member who cares about issues all over the city. Everyone knows the negative postings are from the Huizar camp because Jose Aguilar has become a threat. He will not rubber stamp as the old board did anything until it is fully vetted in the community.

He has no ideas, no thoughts of his own except for jumping on other peoples issues.
You want to talk about juvenile? How does Jose come into meetings? With a video camera, always taping, always trying to intimidate, (especially women).
I hope that guy gets the same treatment he has given folks over the years.
And we can at least see that there's never any shortage of posters to make negative coments here about any subject or person.
I don't even think we have unsuccessful NC candidates among these posts but just people who entertain each other by knocking whatever comes into view.
If you don't like Aguilar as a candidate, who did you get out the support for to oppose him? It looks like it's not worth the bother to run or help another run for office in the NCs, or even vote, but the criticism and personal attacks don't bring out any solutions either.
But then, finding solutions weren't ever considerations of posters like these who find their joy in just dumping on their targets of the day.
You should try doing somthing yourself to improve things. Since you so easily spot the faults so quickly- even before they are proven to exist- you should be able to do some higher level of action as a model for them.
7:59 - grow a pair. If you have been around long enough, you would see that the only thing Aguilar has ever done is attack people, so hopefully Karma gets back to that dirtbag.

What else can happen in Boyle Heights? Stakeholders really need to seriously look take more pride as to who they are voting for. The complete BHNC Executive Board needs to step down, out seven Officer, not one is capable of running a meeting or understanding their bi-laws, Brown Act, and have not idea what Robert Rules of Order is. Boyle Heights has amazing leaders and many well educated, that can make a big difference for the community. Kif the current Executive Board have some pride and care for the community, they need to step aside and allow other members of the BHNC to lead. I hope Councilman Huizar can support the new leadership and ask the current Executive board to let it happen.
