Cut and Paste Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Scene for Thursday
Los Angeles City Councilwoman and California Lt. Governor Candidate Janice Hahn
What happens when you corner a race pandering, liberal political candidate for state office, with facts on a controversial issue? In this case the issue was the Arizona Immigration Law, the candidate was Los Angeles City Councilperson Janice Hahn, who is running for Lt. Governor and doing the questioning was KABC 790 AM Talk Radio Host John Phillips.
It seems that Hahn did not like being ask to state the "true facts" about the Arizona law and hung up on Phillips during a five minute stint on radio April 30. This must of not gone over too well with Campaign Manager Michael Trujillo, who has the thankless task of selling the "beach splashing blond from San Pedro", to the California electorate.
Memo to Trujillo, you might want to educate your candidate about World War Two history. When Phillips asked her how many Jews were killed by the Nazis in WWII, she was mum in response. Further, your candidate might find it in her best interest, to drop the Nazi analogy, in regard to the Arizona law. These comparisons are not going to endear herself well with the Jewish Community, which is growing weary of having the Holocaust, exploited for political gain.
Further Michael, can we take a moment to explain your own comments in the LA Weekly, regarding the comments of Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce?
On Tuesday Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce wrote a letter to Villaraigosa daring him to give up the city's Arizona-based supply of 25 percent of the city's power. "If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation," Pierce wrote. The corporation governs Arizona utilities.
..... and your response Michael?
"Commissioner Gary Pierce is the Forrest Gump of Arizona politics," Michael Trujillo, campaign manager for Hahn's run for lieutenant governor, wrote in a statement obtained by the Weekly. "Never mind that he is an extreme right-wing Republican who supports a racist law in Arizona that even the United Nations has condemned ... "
Michael, if Pierce is the "Forrest Gump of Arizona politics", then I guess it is fair to call you the "Driving Ms. Daisy of LA politics", this for your past work as the designated driver/gofer for Mayor Antonio Parkervillar (BTW, what were you gofering/trolling for Mayor Parkervillar? Just wondering.....). Then about that supposed United Nations condemnation? Little history lesson, this is the same world body that passed Resolution 3379, which stated "that Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination". So I would not cite the UN as the utmost authority on racism.
In ending Michael, when your candidate's efforts to pander her way to a meaningless job in Sacramento, goes down in double-digit flames on June 8, maybe it would be wise to revisit your own comments from those "heady Measure B days".
"We are pretty positive that we have over 65 per cent of the votes in the city," Trujillo revealed. This measure only needs a 50-per cent vote. "I will go on record by stating right now, that if we lose Measure B, I will never work in a political campaign in my life," Trujillo promised.
With the losing streak set to grow Michael, maybe its time to consider a new profession?
** BTW, is there a "Recall Hahn Movement" brewing in CD 15?
OTHER NEWS:
** This what happens when when two suspected RINOS engage in a political brawl. Democratic Candidate for Governor Jerry Brown is getting a bounce in the latest poll numbers on the 2011 race to replace "Gov. Kennedy Republican".
** Termination proceedings at the DWP? Two highly paid, drinkin, pole dancing loving, IBEW dues paying DWP workers, are being sacrifice, whoops, facing judgement for their non-job related activities. Yet the new "Billionaire DWP GM" is not happy with KCBS Channel 2.
** The "Billionaire DWP GM also has some not too kind words on the "Arizona Power Play" .
** Ron Kaye takes LA Times Columnist Steve Lopez to task for his support of the LAUSD parcel tax proposal. Interesting to note that the "Old Gray Hag on Spring Street" Editorial Board, came out against the parcel tax.
Your thoughts..............

1. That is a VERY creepy photo of John Phillips.
2. The BEST Hahn hang up call on radio was when Janice's brother, the IDIOT mayor James Hahn started crying on John & Ken on KFI when he lost the mayor's office. He hung up, too, and was one of the greatest moments in L.A. radio.
3. Phil Jennerjahn now needs 58,000 VALID recall signatures or else the campaign is behind schedule. That asshole doesn't have 500 signatures. You can bank on it.
4. You can also bank on Phil not getting more than TEN, yes TEN, votes for Congress. TEN votes only.
5. Why hasn't Mayor Sam responded to the derogatory thing that Zuma wrote about his health the other day?

Well you have to give Mike Trujillo credit for electing Tamar Galatzan when she ran against a dead guy. But yea I am certain my friend Mike wasn't too happy about Measure B or Hillary Clinton. Hey I'm kind of pissed Hillary didn't win either. Cuz when McCain when down in flames we would only have go back to benign Clinton liberalism which is much better than Obama Socialism.
Anyway I think Mike is a great blogger so he's always welcome to come home.

And that's not a creepy photo of John Phillips, Mary. John is just a typical all-American looking baby faced guy.

The individuals who complain the most are the same people who continue to vote for the LACK of LEADERSHIP, including the career politicians like Villaraigosa, Alarcon, Cardenas, Koretz, Wesson, Krekorian, politicians into office.
Let’s start the NO vote campaign against Lt. Gov. Candidate Janice Hahn on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 or STOP complaining.
Nineteen days left for June 8 and counting!

Jeezus Christ. First off, as usual I can barely understand what the hell you're trying to say, Scott, but you get a pass because today is one of those fun days your dreadful illiteracy accidentally produces something interesting like, honestly, how does Janice Hahn "endure herself"? Moving on. . . Sorry Higby, your boy Trujillo deserves intense ridicule followed by a good beating for those comments. WTF is this? Amateur hour? The U.N.?? Racist law??? Seriously, brother, are you running a campaign? Is this how you rehabilitate the image of the Councilwoman now known as America's dumbest politician? Man I don't know broke you were when Janice came knockin' but debt consolidation may have been the wiser approach, brother, because if you lose to Gavin freaking Newsom your career is over, as in OVER over, "whether you like it not" over. And now I'm really pissed because you made me agree with Red Spot.

John is just a typical all-American looking baby faced guy that looks like Wendy Greuel.

uh you all know that red spot's gig is an act - kind of like Larry the Cable Guy is really a northerner or Foster Brooks never really drank.

That IS a creepy photo of John Phillips.
But that interview with Janice Hahn was a couple weeks ago in the morning - they were BOTH stupid. Her for the Nazi analogy but he too for harping on how many people have been killed in Arizona, non sequitor. She said Arizona "had echoes" of Nazi Germany, where everyone had to have papers on them. NOW if you're just walking you don't need to and I don't think we SHOULD have to. Also we will ALL be "carded" to avoid ACLU accusations of profiling "dark Latino looking people."
I get the reasons for the law and think the pro immigrant people who want to be legalized without conditions, a reward for breaking the law, are hurting their cause.
They need to "get at the back of the line" and wait 5 years from time of application to green card like everyone else, following a crime check. AND we need to make it tougher for them to come here.
Calderon should fix his country and give his people incentive to stay home, not tell us what to do.
No one is more racist than Mexico to other Latinos when it comes to those sneaking in from their southern border, Guatemalans and Salvadorans, Dominicans.

FUNNY JOE B! I'm a commenter who almost always disagrees with you, but you nailed it!
By the way, Higby, John was on Bill O'Reilly today, and had a VERY gay-ish cowlick going on, and the same creepiness.
Whatever Wendy's, er, John's preferences are, I was just commenting on the creepy appearance.

"But the onetime jail is now a visibly rundown building. It is registered as a city historical monument. The jail comprises two buildings, a 1931 structure and a 1949 five-story addition designed to provide more jail space. The jail last housed prisoners in 1965. The Bilingual Arts Foundation has resided in the first floor of the 1931 structure and was not impacted by the latest inspection. The LAYAC was located on the fifth floor of the 1949 addition."

Uh, John is GAY? What are you people talking about? SO What?

Higby, you are SUSPICIOUSLY defensive about the comment. Noone cares if he's gay. We noted that he LOOKS WEIRD, as you do.

Someone should ask why BFA was allowed to stay in the old jail building. Someone should ask the last time that LAFD actually inspected their area. The BFA location is a disaster waiting to happen (electrical sub-standard, areas of lead paint ). Oh yeah, they have a different political connection...........and no where else to go where the rent is one dollar a year.

Actually, Phillips did not ask how many Jews were killed by Hitler. He asked how many people were killed. I assumed he was talking about all the communists, gays, gypsies, handicapped, developmentally disabled, prisoners of war, Slavs, deviants, degenerates, etc. as well as Jews.
If I recall correctly, that comes to around 20 million. She still, could have shown a little more understanding of history than she did
