The Valley Connection at the RNC Convention

America laughed again last night as a terrible “green screen” once again appeared behind John McCain, during his big speech at the RNC.
Well, the “green” was actually the lawn of a school in North Hollywood, California. And the school is called “Walter Reed Middle School.” And the random idiot assigned the task of picking John McCain’s video background during the biggest speech of his career was apparently told to put a picture of Walter Reed Army Medical Center on the screen, and ineptly googled this utterly random California school picture, instead. And nobody knows what Walter Reed Hospital looks like, anyways, so everybody just assumed it was another one of his mansions. The school is about to release “a statement” damning McCain for inappropriately using the picture of this innocent school. All of this, as Josh Marshall notes, is exactly what happened in the movie Spinal Tap.
[Update -- Here's the statement from Donna Tobin, the principal of Walter Reed Middle School...]
"It has been brought to the school's attention that a picture of the front of our school, Walter Reed Middle School, was used as a backdrop at the Republican National Convention. Permission to use the front of our school for the Republican National Convention was not given by our school nor is the use of our school's picture an endorsement of any political party or view."

OMG John McCain should be prosecuted for using the picture of my middle school as a background !!!!! I attended Walter Reed middle school, now my life has been ruined and my whole education is worthless !!!!!!!!
We all need to revolt against John McCain for ruining the reputation and education of every student who ever attended Walter Reed !!!!! Can you imagine how the innocent students have been traumatized by this unconscionable and vile use of the school photograph? The school will probably need to provide life long counseling and therapy for this act!!!!

It was an unexpected burst of glory, and the 1,600 students at Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood were basking in it Friday.
None of the youngsters knew for certain why a 50-foot-wide image of the front of their school was projected Thursday night behind Sen. John McCain as he accepted the Republican Party presidential nomination. But there were plenty of theories.
Valley Doll, now that Sarah Palin is off limits to answer any questions from the press (the evil liberal media!), and the GOP spin machine is working overtime trying to waterproof their Leaking Lena boat of a campaign ticket, and trying like hell to keep anyone from mentioning that GW and McBush swim with the same school of fish, I guess the public will just have to scratch up their own info.
It seems the Republicans have gone back to the Obama as elitist, and now "uppity" from a Republican House Member.

For fun, I asked some kids from Nobel Middle School if they could find me a pic of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center on the internet.
I asked three kids. All three kids were able to send me the correct pic.
This isn't candidate bashing -- I woulda called out the menso if this had been the DNC convention.
