"Meathead" raises money for Villar 2009 Campaign
Rob Reiner, aka "MEATHEAD" or "Trujillo's Former Boss, is calling on his Hollywood friends to raise "pesos" for the "TONY VILLAR in 2009" re-election campaign.Reiner recently hosted a fund raiser that attracted the likes of Haim Saban, Casey Wasserman and surprise, surprise, Magic Johnson.
This early rush for cash is prompted by the rumors of a Rick Caruso campaign for Mayor.
Earlier this week Caruso confirm reports that various "civic interests" had approached him about him running for Mayor.
In an interview this week, Caruso -- the man who brought you the Grove and the
newly opened Americana at Brand in Glendale -- said: "I've been approached to
run by a number of people. I'm considering it. We need some changes in the city
and some strong leadership." If he decides not to run, he says, "I would be
happy to support anyone who would move the city forward."
If Caruso were to jump into the 2009 race, expect record levels of campaign spending for the job with a "third floor view".

That’s less than a year before the 2010 gubernatorial primary—or right in the middle of the race by current campaign standards. The Sacramento chatter grew louder recently, when the political journal Capitol Weekly listed Villaraigosa as a potential gubernatorial contender, along with Attorney General Jerry Brown, Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi, Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell, and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, among others.

God, if I had a nickel for every ounce of white liberal guilt in this town, I could OWN this town.

The great part is that anything Meathead/Reiner touches usually loses.

This goes to show how stupid people with money can be. They are in LA LA Land and dont' know what's really going on in this city. Biggest deficity in the history of LA, worst traffic, overcrowded schools, health clinics closing, homeless problem all but forgotten, illegals coming in thousands and this Mayor does nothing but take credit for everyone else's hard work. HELLLL NOOO FOR VILLARAIGOSA FOR MAYOR AGAIN. If he worked for private industry they would have fired him.
The weather attend fundraisers for ALL candidates, even when they've already made donations to others.
They love being around other weather or famous or powerful people. And they would vote for a Caruso or Magic Johnson in a heartbeat over Villaraigosa.
Hey, send him to Sacto if people are dumb enough to vote for him. Suits the hell out of me. The farther away the better.
Article seems to be a publie relations gimmick by Antonio's campaign to promote their guy. And written by a reporter was was gullible enough to buy into this....
It's not just Reiner, it's lots of big whigs in the biz and the likes of Jeff Katzenberg who don't jump ship. Probably more backing than zuma dogg or Walter Moore are getting. Although I'd like to see Antonio AND the DA do something about enforcing laws when it comes to illegal gangmembers.
Still, it's hypocritical everyone's jumping on the Mayor's case over trip to Israel, little said except an article about Greig Smith and mere staffers for Rosendahl and Cardenas going to six countries, including expensive Japan and Germany, to study trash.
Of course, they're all jumping on the Villar bandwagon! They've never had it so good...a mentally challenged, anchor baby cholo from the barrio who got lucky because the denizens of this city are mostly illiterate third worlders! A 1.4 GPA mental midget who was elected by a concensus of 289,000 votes...while everyone was sleeping.
Now, they have a Mexican puppet who dances on a string and caters to their every whim! Why shouldn't they treat him like the second-coming??? They're ALL getting rich on the backs of legal citizens!
No one would give Villar the time of day if he worked along side of his amigos at the local car wash! He just got Lucky!!! Nobody voted...except the illegals!

Archie Bunker had more common sense than Meathead ever did. Archie was in the military during WWII, raised his family, went to work every day, never asked for a hand out from some stupid govenmnent program. Meathead has saddled the State with his nonsense taxes and programs which have helped cripple the state with is current economic problem and chased business to more tax friendly states. Isn't there a clause that states city council members can't ask Neighborhood Councils for money? What needs to happen in order for that to change? Is lawyer and former state Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg looking to make another run for citywide office in Los Angeles? Our own David Zahniser goes to the source and gets some answers. Well, sort of:
That question came up after the San Fernando Valley resident was spotted Friday in San Pedro at the Dalmatian-American Club's monthly fish luncheon, a multi-course feast attended by community types and bigwigs around the Los Angeles harbor area.
The running joke is that politicians who live north of the 105 Freeway tend to show up at the luncheon once they're running for office. Hertzberg disagreed, saying he simply wanted to reconnect with some friends in San Pedro that he met during his unsuccessful 2005 mayoral campaign. But he also said he hasn't decided whether to be a candidate in next year's municipal election — either for city attorney or for mayor.
"I'm not ruling either one out," he said. And now that the June primary is almost over, "it's appropriate now to start thinking about it," he added.
That makes Hertzberg the latest person to flirt with the possibility of a run against the incumbent, Mayor Antonio Villariaogsa. Mall developer Rick Caruso offered a similarly coy message to The Times this week.
If Hertzberg runs for city attorney, he will have as an opponent Villaraigosa's closest ally, Councilman Jack Weiss. Another likely foe in the city attorney's race would be lawyer Carmen "Nuch" Trutanich, who held a campaign fund-raiser Wednesday hosted by L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca, Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley and county Supervisor Don Knabe.
Trutanich held his event — where else? — at the Dalmatian-American Club in San Pedro.
Talk about a fish story.

Steve Cooley is totally arrogant and refuses to uphold the law and prosecute felons who are either powerful (the Catholic church, the MExican-Mafia financed elected crooks in the 8 notorious cities south of L A like Bell, Cudahy, Huntington Gardens), or even known illegal gangbanger felons. HE's in charge or prosecuting felonies, so blaming any lapses on local officials is more than disingenuous -- it's a big LIE.
Vote for Steve Ipsen as DA -- he's got the guts to get out the truth about Cooley. We'll never clean up crime or get rid of illegal criminals if we give Cooley another 4 years -- they'll become even more entrenched in society. Cooley pretends he's better than the local pols on the illegal issue, but he's WORSE and actively goes after any Asst. DA prosecutors who try.
He's also refusing to follow the law when it comes to VIOLENT SEXUAL PEDOPHILES released on parole, see RonKayeLA.com. Those deemed a danger are supposed to be placed in facilities which monitor their mental health -- Cooley refuses and overrules even State Attorney Gerry Brown on this. Who does he think he is, to overrule judges and the State Attorney?
This race will be good. The white rich entertainment idiots don't have a clue what really goes on in our city causae they're stuck in their million dollar mansions. Let the internet media start posting the crap about Antonio and they'll feel like idiots for not knowing beforehand. There was a story on the demise of local newspapers and how internet news is the new wave of technology. The idiots who donated to Antonio are the ones who read local newspapers and not getting real story. Wait til Fox News starts the campaign trail.
