Will it be Senator or Mayor Schwarzenegger?
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was on the Tonight Show for a 7th time this week and left open his political future (after he wraps things up in Sacramento). Some believe he will run for the U.S. Senate next while others suggest a campaign for Mayor of Los Angeles is far more likely.
The conventional wisdom--if there is such a thing--is that he would prefer to be back in Los Angeles with executive powers and closer to his family than an even longer commute and being one of a hundred senators--albeit an incandescent one. Perhaps recent Schwarzenegger biographers Daniel Weintraub and Joe Mathews will shed some light. Below is his quote from the show:
I see myself as a public servant, not as a politician. I want to finish my term, and I'm absolutely convinced that if I do a good job, and a great job ... we always will get a job after that.

Please Arnold go back to making fictional movies, and stop messing up our realities...... we already have a showboat Mayor, we don't need a showboat US Senator, let alone another millionare representing the common working class Californians. Arnold even Harrison Ford is making a sequel. Sly has already done Rambo and Rocky. Forget this fantasy of working for the people and just make movies. you know Al Gore got a Oscar..... you can too!

Leno joked they will both be unemployed soon and can make Twins III together, there's an idea. But I like Arnold's relative fiscal common sense, he could shape up the locals.
True, he's more in tune with the super wealthy than the middle class, but he hasn't totally forgotten his modest roots, or making a budget.
Why would he want the job, though?

sounds like the midget mayor doesn't want more competition for the spot light he so adores and needs.
But please no more terminator sequels. The last one was terrible.

It would be fun to see the Cholo Mayor squirm if Arnold runs. The democrats have done a horrible job with our city now its time for a Republican.
This is why ICE needs to start raiding LA and council needs to start pushing to get all those damn illegal vendors off the streets.
LAT...MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA — When Monica del Carmen Gonzalez Lopez drove an SUV into the side of a minivan in October, killing a 90-year-old grandmother and injuring three relatives, investigators found that the 23-year-old had already had several brushes with the law.
Some were minor infractions. Others -- including assault, child endangerment and exposing a child to methamphetamine -- were far more serious. She was also in the country illegally.

What has Arnold said about Special Order 40 lately?????
can you say
"NADA"
He'll have everbody riding in bicycle toll lanes, do'n push ups while he still drives his hybrid hummer and buy'n carbon credits....
He'll have gang member fitness classes.
How could you really think he'd make LA any better, at least we have 120 poll's in Sacramento trying to fight him for their own special interest. Here in LA he'd only have to stare down 15 "girlie men" . How much government waste has he cut in Sacramento??? Think he'll take on the LA Teachers, the County Fed,the purple shirted SEIU's, the DWP and those persistant engineers....NO
He'll promote good o'l Rob Riener to Deputy Mayor of Rediculous Fees and maybe Darryl Hannah as Deputy Mayor of Urban Farming and Tree Sitting.
Make them all walk the plank with Nunez and Cedillo.

This would be the win-win strategy for Riordan and the Democrats. Bad for Antonio and Newsom.
1. Puts a Republican back in charge of LA.
2. Stops Zev.
3. It basically ends Antonio's career.
4. Arnold has to resign 1.5 years early to takeover as Mayor; Garamendi becomes governor; makes him the top choice as the Governor Moonbeam Alternative.
I think Arnold would be far happier as Mayor than Governor, not having to travel and dealing with developers than going all over the state for forest fires.

A couple of thoughts:
I liked T3 although it isn't in the same league as the first two. FYI. T4 is underway with Christian Bale as the future John Connor. The Sara Connor Chronicles was okay but it's that other frakin' show in SciFi that everyone is talking about (Is Starbuck a cylon?!?!).
I don't see the Governor leaving his post before the term is up--which puts Villaraigosa (assuming he gets re-elected) and Newsom on a collision course for the statehouse--along with Brown, Whitman, Poizner and perhaps a few others.

I want Arnold gone. He can go make movies again. Just as long as he goes away...
Who cares about him? He is supporting McCain. What a fuck up he is.
He couldn't beat Antonio anyway.
