Scandal at the "LA ROMANCETICA TIMES"
To the discriminating observer of the "PRINT MEDIA" in Los Angeles. The state of objective journalism in this city has been in a free fall. With "P.R. RELEASES" replacing the "WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, HOW and WHY" of news writing. It is no surprise that readership numbers at the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET" and at the "MOLDY GREEN SHEET", are in a state of decline.
Now a new scandal is rocking the Los Angeles journalistic community. As was reported in various blogs. Hollywood producer Brian Grazer was to be a guest editor of this Sunday's Current section. Now that is in doubt with the disclosure of a "RELATIONSHIP" between Andres Martinez, The Times editorial page editor, and Kelly Mullens, a public-relations consultant to, you guest it, Brian Grazer.
The brass at the Times, are in crisis mode, reporters in the newsroom are unhappy about how "WESTSIDE WHITE GUY", err, objective readers might perceive the decision to let an outsider, who's P.R. consultant is "RIDING THE HOBBY HORSE" with the editor, would give an "appearance of a special inside connection", to paraphrase the article by Times writer James Rainey.
As readers of this blog will guess, WWG, the editor of "OBSERVING WESTSIDE LIFE AND HIS TIMES" is in "BLOGGIN BREAKIN NEWS MODE". With the latest "BROADSIDE" to damage the integrity of his "BELOVED FISH WRAP". Bill Boyarsky, former Times reporter and city editor, and now a contributor to the "WWG'S" blog. Has posted a statement calling for a independent panel to investigate "GRAZERGATE".
As for the publishing of the "SPECIAL GRAZER EDITION OF THE CURRENT". That decision will be made by Publisher David Hiller. Whether Hiller cans this "SPECIAL EDITION", or not. the damage to the integrity of the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET" may yet drive the remaining "DEVOTEES OF NEWSPAPERS" to other mediums. Well except the "WWG".
BREAKING UPDATE
Andres Martinez has resign as the Opinion Page Editor. This was after Publisher David Hiller scrapped the printing of this Sunday's Current section, guest edited by Hollywood producer Brian Grazer.
