From ZD's Inbox: Is The Mayor Secretly Backing His Own LAUSD Board Candidates Against Incumbants?
Thanks for the heads up on my cell phone today (4900 minutes last month, y'all), telling me they heard Los Angeles Mayor Antoinio Villagrossa is secretly backing his own candidates for the upcoming LAUSD Board Elections, targeting current incumbants that he SHOULD otherwise be supporting. (But ask Phil Angelides what Mayor V. support means.) In this case it may mean hedging your bet, in case AB 1381 is overturned and thrown out, by trying to infiltrate the LAUSD School Board, with your own (easy to control) homepieces. (Aka: More Monica Garcia's, less everyone else.)

What does it take to impress upon this man that we DON'T WANT his interference in our schools? That we're not interested in HIS selection of candidates? Not voting for his endorsed candidates now or later will help, but other than that I don't know what else to do!
What, Antonio not keep his word?
If he can't keep his word to his wife, why would anyone be surprised if he can't keep his word to his political friends.
Otherwise supporting??
Is there anyone on the LAUSD board that is onboard with AV?
It's time to get rid of this 'circle the wagons" board and Marlene should be first to go. The only good board is a board that would advocate breaking up this dysfunctional district.
"Secret?" Ain't nothing secret about this; they have been talking about their anti-incumbent campaign -- candidates selected by the mayor, for whom he will then campaign and raise funds -- for months now.
You should read comments in David Zahniser article a couple weeks back about the "oppo research" already at work....
